I rather like it but they need to work on the LIVE bit and they really need to leave the flipper on all the time and not when the anchor is reading the intro.

from the looks of it, the promos are still the same.

i just wish they show the ticker 24/7 unlike CNN USA.

I just wish they could have retained the DOG as well, it's somewhat distracting to have a big globe rolling.

Interestingly the black "Update" flipper is now showing during Best of BackStory. I wonder why it wasn't appearing earlier?

I think the update flipper only comes up when it's not a live news program.

The white one should be up the whole time during the live bulletins IMO.

And just like that they've decided to destroy a great graphics package.... I much prefered the older one, was much less americanized. Nothing seems to fit with anything.... although the ticker is nice...

Here it is for those who haven't seen it yet...

i just wish the format should have been like that...
maybe they can change the "CNN.com" on the ticker with "Headlines, Sport, Business"

Overall I like the idea that CNN International moves to look a bit closer to it's American parent station in the same way BBC World News and BBC News (UK) look like each other, it makes report sharing a whole load easier, for example during pieces made for CNN US shown on CNN I, the old DOG used to get in the way of graph presentations and it looked terrible, now with both channels placing their DOG in the same place this should look cleaner. Astons can remain in place as well. It would appear that both channels seem to be moving away from having a constant ticker all the time which I'm not so sure is a good idea when you consider when the channel is being broadcast in a public place with the sound turned down. Anyway continuity is good.

Well CNN don't use a ticker, but a flipper. Complete sentences which alternate

I would prefer the CNN logo appear on its own and not in a rounded box though. The programme titles look weird too, especially for World News for instance. It had a really odd orangy background animating behind it.

Richard Quest's show Quest Means Business started tonight. It airs weekdays at 20.00CET.

Great to have Questy back to anchoring.

I believe this is the first time since 1998 that CNN International and CNN (US) are using the same lower-thirds (straps).

I like them, BTW. I feel that they combine the best of European and American broadcast design.
