The new look on CNN US is practically an updated version of CNNI's graphic package. The Program features in the right hand corner, isn't that what's been on CNNI for a long time, eg the rotating Red Box 'Coming Next' etc, the yellow Breaking news strap is the exact same one used on CNNI right down to the font used. I reckon that CNNI will adapt these new graphics and tickers, sorry flippers, when the Atlanta set is relaunched bringing CNN US and CNNI more in line with each other in the way BBC News and BBC World News are.

Fareed Zakaria GPS had the CNN US graphics while CNN Intl. gave it its own flipper. I think it looks good but the amount of text is very much limited by the programme title/CNN logo at the right.

Does The Situation Room always end on CNNI by cutting Wolf Blitzer mid-sentence then fade straight into CNN Today HK?

Cuz I always hear Wolf saying "I'm Wolf Blitzer in the Situation Room..." on CNNI, then directly cutting into the CNN Today opening. I'm sure that he's still on CNNUS when CNNI cut the feed.

BTW, Pauline Chiou has surely reminded us that CNN Today HK (at least) airs in Asia Pacific breakfast time - "Live from our studios overlooking Victoria Harbour (!!) , this is your first look at (day of week)'s news, business and weather" Also, am I correct that Rosemary Church now does 1000 HKT CNN Today regularly from the Center?

They usually cut him off after he says his name, on CNN US they go into Lou Dobbs show right away.

CNN Today HK is a mess, there's someone different every hour, I don't get to see it often couse it's middle of night here, I only see first hour which is usually done by Pauline , before her there was Kaushel Rolling Eyes , they are all replacements till Kristie comes back in January.

I hope they bring back 2 anchors for HK edition again, single anchored morning shows don't work well.

EDIT: You can see US new graphics here.

Oh my! That temporary set is a bit of a squeeze, isn't it? I am not too keen on it actually. It reminds me of the time when Nicholas Witchell (the "erudite" Nicholas Witchell) had to present BBC Breakfast News from a broom cupboard because a leaky roof in the regular studio caused the place to flood during an overnight storm.

This temporary CNNI set looks as though it was commissioned on a war footing without any opportunity to plan ahead. I wonder why they don't use London and Hong Kong sets more during this revamp, at least allowing some degree of consistency across the output.

Sudden thought: can anyone imagine Quest broadcasting from that temporary shoebox??? Walls would collapse.

Wolf Blitzer is also cut off mid-sentence at the end of Late Edition on Sundays.Another infuriating aspect of this show is that as the show nears its end, the number of advert breaks seems to increase exponentially, usually breaking into some rivetting interviews or discussions. This was especially irritating during the US presidential campaign.

Kirstie has returned this week. It would be an improvement if they could limit the number of anchors on CNN Today from HK back to 3 or 4 as before.

Kristie is back since a week ago.

Hugh Rimmitnon left CNN, his bio is removed and the last broadcast was on Friday.

Stan Grant (anchored CNN Today Hong Kong years ago) has rejoined CNN as a Dubai reporter.

Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer ended this weekend, the new show is State of the Union with John King.

The Atlanta set is still being built, don't know when will it be finished.

A lot of things going on on CNN right now, just can't wait to see some actual changes on air and a more stable schedule.
