The other thing I noticed which makes it look untidy is the Subs label, as it's on the left on some and the right on others, and I think they're different sizes as well. Confused

Yes, some of the labels are in Gill Sans.

Hopefully, Network will follow BBC NI's example, and remove the 'Subtitles' indicators from their idents. All output on the main channels is now subtitled; the label is now therefore redundant.

New ident there - based on the old "THURSDAYS ARR FUNNNIIEEEE!" one, but with a blue/green background of trees, and just saying "THURSDAYS".

Only two of the three 'Thursdays are Funny' idents were used this evening. Images available here .

You miss (in your captioning) that it's now just "THURSDAYS", and they've dropped the patronising "ARR FUNNIIEEE" bit in both idents and promotion.

Ah! Thanks for pointing that out. I'm half asleep and hadn't even noticed!

I didn't realise they were just saying Thursdays. Not surprising considering that for the most part they weren't even remotely funny.

It did give rise to the rather strange announcement: "Yes, Thursdays are back on BBC2, and..."
So where did Thursdays go in the meantime?!

It does need something to differentiate it from 'normal' Thursdays. The best they could do in speech is have it down as just plain old Comedy Thursdays.

The Thursdays are Funny branding is still lurking about in some places - for example, it's used at the end of the Mock the Week clip in the embedded iPlayer on the BBC homepage at the moment.

Why don't they just call it The Comedy Zome like they used to? Then people can decide if it's funny or not for themselves.

I preferred Thursdays are Funny, myself, but I certainly think it needs something to associate it with comedy.

Yes, I think Thursdays are Morose would be much more effective.
