Did Bob Warman once present a Sky version of The Price is Right in the late 80's/early 90's, or am I mistaking him for someone else?

yes he did, shame there seem to be no captures of him presenting the show on the internet.

A clip of him presenting it was on Designing The Decades, the 80's episode iirc. was shown the other week

Well, with Emma on Central being out and about - it was only a matter of time. Chas obviously jealous of the idea had to go one better.

Yes, it was another Nick and Suzanne in the garden spectacular:

Shefali was also out and about on the river for the weather:

More good news regarding the warm weather for the Midlands, another outsider perhaps? :

Dan, Suzanne and Nick all enjoying the lovely atmosphere of the Pebble Mill garden. All with a lovely glass of lemonade with a lemon. I'm sure they were in their element:

Also, rounding off the show with some lovely images of "how the Midlands enjoyed the heatwave"

i hope so - or else the heart will be ripped out of midlands today - lets hope for plenty of lives from the lovely canalside terrace at the mailbox and (although i havent a clue if the mailbox has a flat roof) it'd be fab if they had access to it - for shefali to stand on.

just to fill in a few gaps from ison's caps -

jo crosses live to emma off central weather lounging at the priory tennis club in edgebaston, bless her.
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/160403--central01.jpg

and dont forget - emma is on dentists from hell - tomorrow night on central
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/160403--central02.jpg

midlands today starts as normal
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/160403--bbcmids01.jpg

ooh - but nick hands over to suzanne in the pebble mill garden
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/160403--bbcmids02.jpg

who later explains they cant bring us a live interview with a shropshire farmer Sad but once we'd gotten over that dent in our morale - by virtue of a liz copper report - we could sense nick was on his way down those pebble mill stairs.
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/160403--bbcmids03.jpg

and a fab backdrop behind dan on the sport
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/160403--bbcmids04.jpg

awww @ the flowers on the garden table - a really nice touch, they ought to do that in the studio too - freshly cut flowers from the pebble mill garden.

can you imagine what'd of happened if james mcdonald had of tripped over the wire leading from the garden - they could have played out a selection of bbc midland's finest trailers to fill the time.

i DEMAND that midlands breakfast comes from the garden one day- with mike or kay - it'd probably be the the most amazing breakfast bulletin ever seen on british television.

Well, no outside spectacular tonight on Midlands Today. However, HTV weather presenter Ruth Wignall did tonight's Central Weather. Is this a first?

James Wright has been on before a fair few times now but I don't think I've seen Ruth before.

Oh nice one -- you've answered our question. Thanks for that.

I don't think Ruth has ever been allowed out of Wales before since, as you said, if Charlie and Emma are off [don't forget Dentists From Hell..], you'll have James, or if you're very well behaved, Jo.

Of course, Ruth is in Brum anyway despite the "From the HTV Weather Centre" lies and propaganda this evening..
Do you like her? She's nice lady. Interesting tops. Confused

I don't suppose a screen grab was caught by anyone?

Ive seen Emma Jesson on Dentist From Hell - fancy she had to remorgage her house to pay for treatment.

So what did you Carlton for Central England viewers think of Ruth WIgnel - our very own Welsh weather girl? I bet Central viewers who dont watch HTV were wondering who the hell she was.

I thought she was rather good. She reminds me of Emma in a way - very friendly and certainly a lot more smiley that Mr Wright which is always a bonus. Yes, I like her. It would be nice to see more of her on Central.

Sadly, I didn't get any captures. Darn TV card - although I'm sure the ever reliable tvmercia will have some captures for you later.

oh yes, keep saying that convoluted "central england for itv in carlton land 1 tv" name in this thread, it will win you lots of friends Rolling Eyes

i very much doubt many central viewers dip into htv. max (of greg dyke email/posting porn on this forum fame) lived IN wales and pointed his aerial this way for central, a glowing illustration of how popular central is amongst those on the wrong side of offa's marvellous dyke.

oh yes, very personable and chirpy - i like her! I feel she cant compare on the fashion front with emma though – especially when that elvis tie comes out and the banana flip flops for “costa-del-central”. more of her, less of james wright (he’s probably got a personality lurking some where under that stern exterior). take that jacket off, roll the sleeves up (perhaps pass on the tucking shirt right in and pulling trousers so far up) and get into the spirit of central weather ...... a bit like everyone's favourite weather computer breaker .....

as you can see ruth knew she had made it by appearing on central - no longer an unknown face in a far off province, but broadcasting to the vibrant heart of the english nation - a dynamic, forward looking land with so many glorious opportunities. well done ruth - with the bonus being you live in the chosen land even when you're not on central.

http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/180403--central01.jpg

http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/180403--central02.jpg

awww - remember the old central crew - charlie, emma, emma, su (from central continuity) and jenny (i think?).

as to emma on dentists from hell - apart from what an awful time she's been through, you have to admit she hasn’t let it affect her work - well done emma, hope all is on the mend. some nice shots of the central virtual studio, central court and gas street basin in that show too - loved the way they had a nice pic of bob getting in the way. shame they *carefully* chose archive of central weather not containing the fabulous cake *tsk* @ them.

over on bbc midlands - not to be outdone, a new day, a new set of captions. and seeing as the show is striving to be as camp as possible - there was only one colour for the captions .....
*the girly-est PINK they could find* *teehee*

meanwhile mike get on the M6 to go and save staffordshire from the menace of the little fires started by bored children (incidentally on the same day birmingham's most famous statue is torched ....... central have dramatic pictures of the entire episode .... bbc mids give it a 10 second mention)
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/180403--bbcmids03.jpg

mike means business - so much so he shows us a picture of the midlands with fires on! communicating the danger posed to us by such fires - i feel another series of mike collie’s behind the 9's is on its way Laughing
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/180403--bbcmids04.jpg

with it being the BIG easter get-a-way there was only one person capable of coordinating the midlands travel network - the creator of the travel information system - kay alexander - sporting this rather fetching lemon jacket - or is it a really light green Confused , only kay has the answer i feel. i guess she wore it to celebrate the recent warm weather - with the semiotics of the whole thing being kay associating herself with the sun, which is a happy, warm object - which is universal and powerful - a bit like kay.
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/180403--bbcmids05.jpg

kay smiling - the gallery messed up her closing extravaganza by playing some old black and white footage and funeral stuff as she mentioned the harlem globe trotters - but kay coped.
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/180403--bbcmids06.jpg

kay looking at midlands ceefax travel on her little telly in the desk - constantly keeping the midlands on the move - the midlands would be nothing without you kay.
