I run http://www.nztvpres.com ! which is quite possibly the first and only New Zealand TV presentation site! I've got lots of old caps too add too.

But it appears to be down right now, folks.

As for TV Ark, I found it in 2000, and loved the nostalgic rush. Then, I found TV Forum around the time it started and loved the up-to-date info on new pres. Never worked up the courage to register and post until a little over a year ago.

Real Verdict?

Now for my TV Ark memories... I found it first I think in about 2000 but I only remember consciously visiting it in 2001. I always thought that site would take a lot of time, money and effort - so didn't for one minute think I would become part of the team. (By the way I was right about the time, money and effort! Wink )

Don't forget "crossover televisision" another site of its heyday Very Happy Maybe one day it will come back, it looks lovely on my C: drive in its half state lol

You did a good job with that one Russ, considering your site was the only one that had clips of ITV from 31/12/92 and 1/1/93, long before other sites did too. Although it's bugging me what was the name of Whatadays site that you passed Crossover Television to before that shut too.

Thanks for that. As someone mentioned, it was Real Verdict who took over the site under their own domain. A lot of the stuff is still on my hard drive under a new design but its one of those sites that I want there to be enough content to kick start without it looking empty and I will start and then run into other things and never get the momentum going again.

No, there just seems to be something wrong with the homepage... http://www.nztvpres.com/tv2/index.php

I see that TV Room has the 1979 BBC1 ident:

http://thetvroom.com/bbcuk/bbc-1-99-01.html

Looking closely, it's not as Victorian looking as I remember.

Perhaps I'm thinking of the 1973 ident ?

I'm surprised that got passed for use at Closedown as the 1977 Pudding wasn't, being deemed unsuitable for use with the National Anthem!

Also, why the non-standard National Anthem?

This version appears to have been in use during the late-1970s and during 1980.

Really enjoy looking at The TV Room by the way (not sure why there's not a thread for your great site) - good work. Smile

Can't wait for all the old stuff to move over to the new layout - fantastic job. Smile

This version appears to have been in use during the late-1970s and during 1980.

Keith Hamer once mentioned something about a "new National Anthem" brought in around 1981 in his TV Graphics Review.

Yet the more familiar version was, it seems, in use as far back as 1974.

"Cambridge Buskers" was the official 1979 theme.

I've heard two examples of this version of the Anthem. It actually sounds a bit ropy on both clips, and I don't believe it has anything to do with the quality of the tape.

As we know, Keith's 1981 date is definitely incorrect. At the moment, I can say with confidence that this rather unusual version of the Anthem was in use in 1979 and 1980. Not sure when they reverted back to the more familiar arrangement.

Ah, yes. Thank you.

I'm still very stuck on the 1973 ident, though- do you have any information about that ?

The only visual record of its that seems to exist is Keith Hamer's off-screen photo.

There is an article by Keith on MHP with the said photo. Many of his pre-1974 festive idents are incorrectly dated, we now know.
