I actually have an entire imaginary country made up, called "Ilonia". Here are some mocks from one of the networks, INT (Ilonian National Television):

The network ident. (as you can see the logo is quite reminiscent of BBC's)

The local version. (seen here HMTB in Hinto, the largest city in the country)

The open titles to INT Nationwide News, the network newscast at 6pm.

The aston for the Nationwide News. (now does that scream "The Beeb" or what... and the b/g picture here is obviously irrelevant to the aston input in this case, I know...)

As you can probably tell, the television system here is quite similar to the States. (Local affiliates, call signs, channel number IDs, etc.) Besides INT, the other major networks are SBN and IITV (re-branded as i-Channel). Those are the "Big 3" in this country, not unlike ABC/NBC/CBS in the US. INT tends to skew older; IITV, since the re-brand to i-Channel, has been more oriented towards a younger audience; and SBN's somewhere in the middle. There are 2 younger networks, UTB and HON, which are kind of like FOX and the WB. Just like their American counterparts, INT, SBN and IITV's primetime runs from 8-11pm, and UTB and HON's run from 8-10pm.
