Sometimes he fills in for Max. He doesn't have a slot of his own, he can be seen on CNN Today, BI, WN Europe, World Bussines Today and all London prduced shows.

In 1994, CNN International unveiled a new, state-of-the art production facility, which it still uses (even though it now has a completely different set). Before 1994, the network used the same studio as CNN US.

Here's the first newscast, beginning with a report on the new facility:

Great to see Richard Quest back this year presenting over Christmas, not sure about him and Sasha, but he makes its more enjoyable!

CNN Today was great with Richard this morning. He even made Sasha interesting and enjoyable. I wish he would come back for good. I hope they bring back Monita for the rest of the week.
My favorite part was the ending when Questy made Sasha and Pedro imitate the Queen in saying:'' We wish you a very Happy Christmas''. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Yes, Richard was his usual amazing self during the holiday's period. The Bhutto story also showed that he has the gravitas when needed.

I am lucky enough to be on a long holiday at the moment and the hotel only has CNN - got to say, they are damn good!! A particular favourite of mine, Adrian Finighan, has been on my screen for most of the time due to the time difference and he continues to excel with an incredible mix of humour, gravitas and experience of the story in hand.

One lighter note was his "soothsayer" handover yesterday to the next shift, Anjali Rao in HK.

Good stuff, Adrian. Hope you will be on our screens more and more.

Yes,Adrian really got to show us more of his personality on CNN.
On BBC he always had to be dead serious and just read the news.

Good to see some of the anchors out and about at the moment too - Colleen McEdwards anchoring the US elections from New Hampshire and Hala Gorani with Bush in the Middle East.

It has meant Isha Sesay standing in for Hala on YWT. Isha is good, particularly alongside the Grand Master Clancy.

Zain Verjee is reporting live from her native Kenya at the moment and just filed a piece in which she was shot (grazed) at by rioters.

Visibly and understandably shaken, she continued filming. All in the line of duty??

Adrian had a little accident with his chair this morning. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
BTW I love Adrian & Malika together, they are great.

I really hate their new set. The graphics are an absolute triumph, but it's all ruined by the channel appearing to come from a conservatory/UPVC windows showroom.

I agree with both of you - Mallika and Adrian are a good team. I enjoyed their banter this morning with Jenny Harrison regarding the website www.onecoldhand.com - it was entirely off the cuff and spontaneously hilarious.

As for Moz's comment - also couldn't agree more. I love the quality of CNN's presentation, journalism and the ability of their anchors. They have great graphics, but the set (all three of them - LON, ATL and HKG) are abysmal. Very distracting.

Last week, during Adrian's shift, they broke away from World Sport to bring a Condoleezza Rice Press Conference, and Adrian carried it from a CSO of the London newsroom, like the old background. It was far more soothing on the eyes than the current set.

On the subject of seating - does Becky Anderson perch on a stool when she is presenting WNE? It looks like it. Whatever she is seated on has no back.
