A Modern Look for MTV

I know there is already a thread for MTV but I wanted to start a new thread so that my mocks would get noticed!

First of all, the idents.
I have only created one version of the ident, but they would all follow the same principal. There will be various lines of colours with rather random, but a bit 'tongue in cheek' words, like frolic, etc. Later in the night more adult words can be shown...'shag' etc..

The lines would move from right to left, a la Channel 4.

Eventually, a mucic celebrity appears (in this case, Kelly Rowland), and their first name appears as one of the words on-screen.

The celebrity then blinks, and whats that on her eye? The camera zooms into her eye to reveal the MTV logo. The web address also appears in the bottom left of the screen.

For song graphics, a 3D screen appears in the bottom left. It is meant to represent a signal board, much like you'd find on the front of buses, or trains (I know what I mean!). First of all, the MTV logo appears...

...then the Artist and Title of the song...

...and finally, the album, year of release, and also a shot of the album cover.

Next, the Break Bumpers. These last about 2 seconds, and features a band of colour 'swooshing' across the screen from right to left. Because the old MTV used to sometimes say 'MTV:IRL', I thought about making BB's which feature all 4 countries in the UK. Each BB uses it's countries flag colours...

All 4 BB's would be used, and wouldn't be country specific as MTV is for the whole of the UK.

Carrying on the theme from the idents, the programme trailers would feature some coloured bands and a few words relating to the programme.

The endboard for programmes would also continue this idea.

Now I know these aren't my best mocks, as I'm used to working in widescreen! What does everyone think?

Im working on some mtv stuff myself. would you like to see what ive done so far? (i did it in paint, of all programs, so tthey may look a bit rough)

Paints always a bit dodgy, but I think new 'talent' is good - we all have to start somewhere. Maybe you should invest in a better graphics program - maybe Photoshop or Fireworks?

The aston would animate in a similar style to the one on TMF.

Well I'll show off a little creative genius and walk you through each of these little doodles.

Bog Standard Ident. The MTV bar would fade in centre screen and slowly move left across the screen. The bars on the right would respond to the music on the ident like a stereo. The back on each of the idents would vary. Fading out, shrinking and expanding like an audio trace etc, all would be images or videos of stars.

When advertising a program the bar with MTV logo previously moved, on trails it would remain in this location while the rest appears on screen as you see here.

So far no dog is present but would be during the songs.

The dog, Bottom Right would remain onscreen only during songs.

This very simple box method of showing the title, artist etc would flyin from the bottom of the screen moving the dog up in the process. Then it would fly out and move the dog back down.

I notice one thing: isn't anything missing on the logo?

Where is the "Music Television®" under the logo?

I have both. both very complicated but i found serif photo plus which works well. [ www.freeserifsoftware.com ] its only 16 meg.... either way, i advise you try it.
