Setanta aren't happy with the fact that Rangers v Gretna has been rescheduled because of the Champions League as they were due to cover it...

... and I'm not happy either as I was supposed to be going up there to watch it.

Anyone know why Celtic are playing in the Champions League tonight while the rest of the "Matchday 6" games are next week?

AC Milan are in the Club World Championship (or whatever its called these days) next week, so their group had to be played this week.

More bizarre is why neither of the games were on ITV, as far as I understand it they have the first choice of games on Tuesdays? Are they so far up the Premiershi*s ass they think no-one wants to watch Celtic play AC Milan or is there a more complex reason?

STV showed it.

I assume if it was due to be played next week ITV had first choice as usual and picked the two Premiership teams as usual - though as you say they could have opted for Celtic this week - even if only on ITV4 - and then screened another on ITV1 next week.

Anyway, how stupid of FIFA/UEFA to schedule the World Club Championship in the same week as the Champions League!

Well ITV must be applauded for not interrupting any of Amir Khan's fight tonight for an ad break. All 72 seconds of it was shown uninterrupted.

BBCi showing some boxing from Northern Ireland tonight too - then of course there's Hatton on Sky. I think I'd be demanding a refund if it was over as quickly as Khans!

So the most deserving winner actually won - well done Joe!

Not sure he'd have won though if Ricky Hatton hadn't lost last night.

A bit of fakery going on though - Calzaghe having to hold up a fake trophy in an empty room while the credits roll!

Hamilton looked pissed off to be pipped into second once again!

Both seemed to have the previous winners crest around the base of the trophy too...

One of them had to be fake though - and you'd imagine it be the one in Las Vegas, especially considering Lewis Hamilton was expected to win.

I don't think so to be fair, must have been slightly uncomfortable to be the main focus in that vast arena as the only one of the top 3 present without being the actual winner.

The BBC seemed to make more of the focus on Lewis in the studio / arena rather than down the line at Calzaghe.

The award should be renamed because most sportsmen and sportswomen over the years have shown little or no personality. Also it's good it went to somebody that actually won something. Lewis lost the formula 1 title, so shouldn't have won it.

I see that ESPN want a share of the Premier League coverage for the UK now as well.....

Has Alex Fergeusson buried the hatchet he has with BBC Sport? Or was it just a favour for Sir Bobby Robson
