It was last Friday's news I know, but HTV have only just got around to it -- The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire coughing trial has been adjourned ... because of an outbreak of coughing among the jury!
Lucy might be on holiday this week as Juliet will be on tommrow as well -I cant say I noticed Jonathan looked under the weather - I did see Tara did a report from a carpark!
And yes good old Ruth is doing the late news - she seems to do it on a Monday all the time - probably cos THurs/Fri she is in Brum doing the weather.
Yeah I think the announcers are at Culverhouse Cross and also Soccer Sunday comes from there - Waterfront comes from the Cardiff Bay studio though doesnt it? Is the studio owned by HTV at Cardiff Bay?
Did you know HTV also has studios in Swansea, Carmarthen, Newtown, Colwyn Bay, Wrexham and Mold? Im not sure how big they are though - I think they are just offices for the reporters to go too?
Theres a new HTV office in Carmarthen too. It used to be near Tescos, but it's moved to Lamas street. That's where Giles Smith is based.
With regards to the HTV news studio, it is very big, and the sports programme (I dunno what it's called) comes from a small desk and backdrop which is in the corner, facing the main news desk.
The HTV news set is pretty rigid, and I don't think that studio is used for anything else apart from news and that sports programme.
When I was in the studio, the two presenters of the sports show were sitting at the desk rehearsing. Both of them plastered in make up
Steve Taylor then wandered into the studio for the afternoon bulletin. The news was dominated that day with the end of the Clydach murder trial. That aside the head of news, John I think his name was, was more than happy to show us around (there were only 4 of us, so it was hardly a huge crowd.)
There is another studio on the other side of the building used for Barry welsh etc. which has seats for the audience.
I would love to go back to HTV and have a PROPER look round - I was only there for about 90 minutes when I was there last summer.
Stunning they are -- lovely. Reminds me of Three Cliffs Bay on the Gower. I can't even begin to do pictures like that, but I can look at them well enough!
Other suggestions for places in Wales? I'd have Cardiff Bay, Three Cliffs Bay, Portmeirion, Snowdonia, Menai Bridge [just to keep the north quiet] and Brecon Beacons. Not many urban places I'll grant you, but I only like Cardiff as an urban Welsh place.
I'm sure Northern Ireland and Scotland would be just as pretty, and in some ways they really would look lovely for the Nations. But I guess the guidelines for them being National news programmes as well as regional prevents all that..
Pembs was on the news today for that village split between the administrative border between Pembs and Cardiganshire [Ceredigion now]. It's been given over to the Pembrokeshire side entirely, to the happiness of its residents.

Yep, Pembs was in the news today. The old ITV Digital call centre is to be used again - I might work there again (just until I go to Uni).

Gah. Call centres -- Never again..
I'm assuming you'll not be dealing with irate nationalists who insist on shouting and making their complaint in Welsh -- when, if they read the literature properly, they'd find the Welsh only number..
The sound of their voice when I tell them what's what... in Welsh.
Grr at nationalists.

hehehe - yeah, my uncle is one of them. He lives in deepest Carmarthenshire, and he is a right t*sser. He's originally from north Wales. They're all like mini-Hitlers in Gogland.
