The two reports from the American visitor to South East Today so far have been very funny. I think Geoff Clarke was right when he said he was "so American".

"I'm Greg McQuade in Kent County. Geoff and Poolly , back to you".

Yeah, apparently he's come over to the UK because Louisiana has some connection with the history of the Chatham Dockyards!

I can't imagine he has any idea on what sort of programme South East Today is compared to the regional news programmes of the USA. i.e. Central Florida News 13 covers the equivilent of Kent, Sussex, London, Manchester, and probably the whole of Scotland doubled.

No presenters are as annoying as those two people on Meridian Tonight!

Is there a reason national weatherman Dan Corbett is doing the weather on South Today ? I think he's doing OK, even if his voice slightly annoys me. And where's Georgie?

It's quite usual for a regional centre to book a presenter from the Weather Centre for forecasts when their presenter is off... It's not unheard of for a national presenter to relocate to the region when their usual presenter has an extended period of leave. Southampton and Bristol have both used Sean Batty for their studio forecasts recently...

Argh, for goodness sake! I'm really getting fed up with Meridian Tonight in the South East. We've just had three major stories then all of a sudden a 20 second news item and still image of a man who has....been bitten on the nose by a dogfish. Rolling Eyes

They really need to sort their editor out and the terrible "acting" with the presenters. The only thing that works are the long-standing reporting team.

And as for Martyn Davies in the studio.. "We've had a lot of rain today Martyn? Yes, we've had a lot of rain today. Thank you Martin. He'll be back later for a full forecast."

No, Ian Axton is not "unwell", he went to the dentist today and had a tooth out as he told viewers yesterday. Rolling Eyes

Least I think that's what he said.

Really great to see Glen back doing the programme in Ian's absence- why oh why didn't management at Meridian (or should that be Grays Inn Road) give him the job in the first place!!!???
