A while back I created logo mocks for a welsh broadcasting service with the channels teledun and teledau.
Original Thread
Here I created mocks for teledau, based on the logo colours. They would animate in various ways. I created them in paint.net. I know they're not perfect, so how do you think I should improve them.
The logo just doesn't seem to 'connect' to the background, it looks a bit slapped on. I assume these are idents, so perhaps if you could explain how they'd animate it might help?
In welsh, teledu means television, and dau means 2, so its kinda like teletwo. Teledun is a combination of teledu, tv, and un, 1. The colous help seperate the 2 words. I guess the backdround would be kinda swirly, in a circular fashion, or kinda like the s4/c thing where there are those lines go up and down and modulate I guess.
Having viewed the previous thread you've linked to and this thread:
The standalone logos on the other thread look okay, save for the potential issues flagged up in that thread by its contributors.
Your backgrounds on this thread, look like an LSD trip in all honesty. Slapping a channel name, logo and ident on these just doesn't look right at all.
But having said that, there is some potential here - the second ident is quite good, the third and fourth need more work.
Thanks for all the comments everybody. Regarding the language, in the original thread I detailed that "I would make teledun about 75% English, 25% Welsh, and teledau about 60% English and 40% welsh.S4C would remain the same, and the commercial francise would be totally english."
So during english programming on teledau, its slogan is "something different", but uring welsh programming it is "rhywbeth gwahanol" It might be wrong, because i'm using a dictionarty
