Yeah the date has been confirmed for a while now... the first episode is going to be the vital one regarding Martha as an assistant. They have to get it just right otherwise she's never going to be accepted.
Smith and Jones will be make or break for Martha. Hopefully they'll get it right.

As with the last 2 series, the first episode of the new series will probably be ****. All the episodes that Russell T Davies write are the weaker ones.

I thourgh he wrote them all!

No he only writes about half the series. The other half is written by mostly newcomers to give them a good platform to start on... same goes with on location directors.... something I hope to be one day.

The other writers are hardly new. I've seen their other works, and most have worked on more than one series. But anyway, non-RTD seem to be the better ones.

The series has been mostly good, but i do wish they would do a few things to stop me getting bored:
1) Stop with the Daleks already. I've seen them in the trailer for Series 3, are they going to be featured a lot? Surely not even the classic series in its bad times did Dalek stories on 3 consecutive seasons in a row, especially not twice a series! I know they're popular, but come on.
2) Original ideas! The only decent monsters in the series have been the old ones (Cybermen, Daleks). The only true original monsters (The Slitheen) are naff! And with supposedly making an appearance, it's just going to get stupid.
3) Sack Russell T Davies. He wrote a fantastic first episode and is good at the emotional goodbye stuff, but mostly his style of writing doesn't suit this type of series at all. The only really good episodes have been the ones not written by him. At best i think he should be a script editor or at worst have a script editor to go through his scripts.
4) Enough with the spinoffs! Sarah Jane Adventures, Torchwood, Adventures of K9! Where next? Thank god they axed that Rose spinoff before it got too far.

Agree on alot of points there, a new arch enemy is needed. However I thought Torchwood was quite good although the swearing (of which I'm a bit partial to at times) seemed forced & was always said louder to make a point IMO

Yeah I'm a fan of Torchwood, although some features seemed a little forced... sex gas anyone?
