Laughing The Dead Ringers one was very funny. Even apart from the reference to 'logos'.

Anyone else see that rather nice Newsnight trailer there? 'Newsnight Tonight 10.30pm' appeared in an aqua rectangle next to the box rather than the usual trailer end frame where the picture is no longer visible except through the '2'.

If you missed it, imagine the old purple aston that sometimes appeared in trails, on the opposite side of the screen, larger and aqua coloured.

Sighting of the breakdown slide with crashing waves just there before the Culture Show. The opening titles refused to play for some reason.

Nice to know they were on the ball with a caption though:

Oh Jesus. That music is awful. Thank god there was only a few seconds of it. Surely it'd make more sense to create a long version of the Waves ident music to play at breakdowns. It'd create a much tighter pres package.

The caption itself though is very nice. For once, the grammar is spot on and the background animation and the movement in the 2 itself is a very nice touch.

So after exactly 1 week of the new idents what is everyone's opinion on them?

To me TWO appears to be a whole new channel thanks to the new idents. Whereas before jokey idents where used into quite serious programming, the quite dramatic scenes of the new idents seem fitting to introduce the programme following.

So, any changed opinions after week 1?

I like them although I do miss a couple of the yellow 2's (Remote & Flame) this set is rather good, chase is still rather odd to me, but the rest that I have seen look rather good, especially Mirror, which is the strong one of this set.

Didn't expect the animated sea in the background. The music is the Ceefax music that they use constantly these days.
