Well yes I am aware of that. But now there is no difference in the presenation of the two stations.
So have these idents gone then?

No, the BBC2 Wales/2W ident is used at the crossover point from BBC2 to BBC2W. Or at least that was the way it used to run.

I think these idents are great, especially Zoetrope which has that spooky aura of the pre-yellow and purple idents. However, I cannot stand the box - why on earth did they keep it? All the channels are going to end up really inconsistent - BBC one does its own thing, News 24 has reverted to the pre-box style and now BBC TWO has this thing...the box lets them down, and the 'Next' thing is deadful.

Yep, it was also shown on Network before Working Lunch so that one's definitely now aired. Probably the poorest of the set, and the camera-shaking really doesnt help it.[/quote]
It would be a lot nicer if there was (a) more light on the inside of the car, so you could see the interior and (b) if the camera was less shaky and didn't rotate when zooming out.

Pretty rubbish. Just watched the old Balloon 2 on YouTube. Arguably a very simply ident but what made it was the audio - shame it seems to have been a bit of an afterthought on this batch of idents.

They should've filmed Sunroof in a Citoren, they're meant to run quite smoothly. Thanks for the high-quality caps, Asa.

I cant see it disappearing as quick as 'Crystal Ball', but maybe it will be the 'Paper Cut-Out' of the set instead.
I hate to mention Channel 4 in this thread once more, but their 'Pylons' ident doesnt shake and that's filmed in a car. It is rather sloppy and IMO it spoils what could have been a good ident.

I have a feeling though that the BBC are holding a few back so that they can replace the few duff ones

No they still live on.
So, has 2W simply not got its own style of idents now then? It's just the usual BBC Two idents but with a different box!
It makes the "2W" brand seem almost pointless.
Clearly, as the digital (BBC 2W) weekday evening schedule differs from the analogue (BBC Two Wales) schedule, the "2W" brand clearly helps to differenciate. But, post-DSO, there really will be no point to the "2W" name bothering to exist. Given that the new 2W idents are now the same as normal BBC Two idents, then presumably they are indeed working towards dropping the "2W" brand, come DSO.
It does. However, during the day it is just a digital channel playing BBC Two Wales. Then at about 19.00 it changes from BBC Two Wales to BBC 2W. At this stage a BBC Two main ident is played with the logo chaning to the 2W logo. Before the changes yesterday it used to be the logo flip ident, changing from the BBC Two purple box changing to the Green 2W box.

2W has it's own idents, the logo is actually included in the scene.

May have been noticed already, but I've picked up that these idents
do
have a common musical link!
It's a three-note tune, but what makes it trickier to spot is that the idents music is not in the same key across the set, hence why I didn't pick up on it until now
Listen to the first three notes of Seascape, compare it with the very start of Cappuccino, and also in the bassline of Chase. Same tune, different keys.
