I've created this mock of how Sky News might report the event of Saddam Hussein deciding to go on Iraqi
state TV to announce that he's decided to give up, withdraw his "troops" and finally go into exile at last!
To celebrate this momentously surprising event, Sky News decide to finally change to widescreen!

They've kept and adapted their existing astons, but slightly altered the clock and the "active" icon.

Oh come on, if you're going to do a mock, at least make it something original!
Sky News will never go widescreen - look what happened to BBC News 24 *throws up*

whoa!! Shocked hold on a second - you should never say never - there is always a possibility that Sky News could go widescreen - and who knows - if Sky Movies and Sky One / Mix widescreen is a success, then Sky News could follow suit later on. Smile

Harshy, I could have insulted your *attempt* at mocks and your perverted (or that should be sick) obsession with BBC World really badly. But I didn't.

Well, my original mock wasn't meant to be totally original, just a widescreen variation
of the current Sky News graphics and astons, with a few minor tweaks here and there.

BTW, I never said my mocks were any good. I'm limited to using Paint ShopPro 6.02
and Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 so any mocks I make aren't likely to be quite at the
high standard of those made by TVF members with expensive graphics software.

Anyway, a reworked and slightly more original version of the original mock is coming
up shortly. I can't guarantee it'll be a great mock, but it'll be a little bit better than the
first one, and it won't be quite as close to the current Sky News look as the first one!

BTW, I'm not so sure Saddam would be smiling if he did decide to throw in the towel!

The change in rating is only because of some originality in it...

Oh god...

Widescreen = more space to fill with graphics therefore make the graphics bigger. Rolling Eyes

I suppose if Sky News really did look like that, they'd be following the example of it's Stateside
counterpart, Fox News Channel, and using widescreen as an excuse for even more screenjunk!

At least the "ACTIVE" icon can be removed (until an adbreak finishes) with the Back Up button!
