Since SKY announced the detials of their three new music channels, Pop!, Amp and Axe, I've been working on these mocks.
Pop!

Pop! would be focused on teenage girls, therefore I used what I thought to be 'girly' colours (pink, light blue).

The first mock is basically an ident/breakbumper peice of film that would be shown between music videos/programmes.

Then of course the Channel's own chart graphics...

The song details.

At the end of the song, the video that will be played next is shown, and the text gets smaller by 2 pts. for each line down. The pop! logo 'pops in' from the side.

A programme Endboard. The logo at the top left can only be seen on widescreen TV's. The logo behind the text would spin round really fast once when it first appeared.

AMP
The slogan for AMP is 'Loud and Proud'. I think it represents the style of music shown on the channel. I chose the main colours of black and yellow, as I also think these colours suit the mood of the channel. The mocks are in the same order as the ones above (Ident/Breakbumper (shown inbetween videos), the graphics for the channel's own chart, the song details, and a programme end-board).

The chart for AMP is called 'Amplify', I thought it took a nice play on the channel name.

For the song details, the logo 'zooms in', and the dots to the side of it increase, until it becomes the right size and the song info is displayed. This happens at the beginning and end of the videos.

axe
I felt this channel needed a disco feel. That's why I've used the idea of glitter and light, and blurry things. As this channel is aimed at adults, I tried to make it a bit more sophisticated as well. The slogan used is 'Yesterday...NOW!'.

Well, that's all of them! Sorry about the quality of the 'music videos' - I had trouble finding pictures I could use without distortion. What do you think? Comments/Suggestions welcome!

Sorry if you can't see them, I've uploaded them all twice now, but they don't seem to be showing up.

Also, only a personal preference, but I think the AMP graphics are a bit grungy. It's ok for teenagers, as most of them are morbid and grungy anyway, but perhaps a different colour scheme would be better.

I think that's the point! "Amp" is going to be a rock music channel anyway, and therefore most probably aimed at that kind of audience.

They're very good Jay - which software did you use for them?

Thanks for the comments!
Benjy, I used a mixture of Xara 3D5, Fireworks MX and Photoshop 7.

Good mocks Jay, some of the screens are a bit cluttered, but I really like the ideas for Pop!.

Here are mine...

mromega - I think your mocks are let down by the on-screen graphics. The still opening titles are very professional, especially The Amp but this style isn't continuous in the astons.

Lol, I just cant get over how that comment is SO helpful to jay!

Nice mocks, like the 3D Pop! ones, I didn't notice at first but you've used the main Sky font, it looks different because of the way you've used it Smile

Thanks, Ministry!
I made these such a long time ago, I'd forgotten about them!
They look..urm..a tad amatuerish to me now, I think I've progressed a bit since these were made. What was I thinking?! Razz

Yea but still, it's the idea behind the design. I just like how you've spiced up that text. With some modifications, that 3D Pop ident could look really good.
