Ananova:
ITN confirms their reporter Terry Lloyd and colleagues Fred Nerac and Hussein Othman are missing after they came under fire while travelling to Basra in Iraq.
Cameraman Fred Nerac and local translator Hussein Othman are also missing after the incident at Iman Anas.
Another cameraman, Daniel Demoustier, was injured as the crew drove towards the key southern city in two vehicles, but was able to get to safety.
"We passed on the left hand side a big British artillery position with tanks and on the right hand side was some Americans," saind Mr Demoustier.
"We drove a bit further along the road and there's a bridge and almost when we got to the bridge we saw some Iraqi soldiers coming towards our direction. They were still carrying weapons so I thought it was a better idea to turn back straight away so that's what we did."
Mr Demoustier, who was in the crew's first vehicle with Mr Lloyd, said as they drove away he saw two Iraqi vehicles were following them.
He said they were making "thumbs up" signs at the crew which he thought meant they wanted to surrender using them as cover.
"But at that same moment very heavy gunfire started towards my car, from the right hand side. I had to duck down straight away, windows were exploding inside the car. In a split second I looked to my right side and the right door where my correspondent (Lloyd) was open and he was not there anymore," he said.
Mr Demoustier said the car fell into a ditch where it caught fire but he was able to jump out. The car, which was covered in petrol, then blew up.
The cameraman then tried to get into a minibus that stopped to help, but there was more gunfire and he had to retreat back to the ditch. In the end he was able to escape with journalists from the Mail on Sunday who arrived at the scene.

Changing the subject slightly, I notice that the BBC have now started to show a funky little map to show where their reporters are based before they talk to them. It workes really well as its a little confusing with all these different places being talked about.

Lets hope all is well with Terry Lloyd and his crew.
Nice tribute to him and one of the cameramen from Jon Sopel on News 24 earlier. He'd been in the bar with Terry the other night and knows the cameraman very well from his time in Paris.

That sounds like a complete mis-reading of some agency wires, which said that four US marines were killed, according to reports on Sky TV.
Certainly can't find any reports of more journos being killed.

Any confirmation on that?
