But ITV1 did not get the second vote, as they went off air, and the BBC extended the Ten to 45 minutes to cover it.

Thought the Ten was really good tonight, they covered the voted very well and explained what it meant etc. Huw handled the show well crossing live from one place to another.

Thought the anti-war people may have got more out of hand behind Andrew Marr than they did.

Didn’t that cause problems with protestors? I didn’t see the entire program but you would think the protestors knew the studio was there they would make a nuisance of themselves.

Re: the Westminster studio. Very nice, but was not in keeping with the new look main studio.

Also, was is fake, as at the end, George appear to fade out and the background image was brought to the front.

ALso, the 10 o'clock News opening with the bongs of Big Ben. Wonder where they got that idea from?

Well it's not as if ITV are ever going to run to time closely enough to catch them now, is it..?

No - real.

Basically a large portakabin type structure (as also once used at Wimbledon) with a perspex window on one side - raised up slightly (which is why you only saw the flags of the protestors outside) It is covered as an outside broadcast... The reason George appeared to disappear was because they mixed from a camera in the temporary studio, to a camera outside the studio (or shooting through a window) providing a slightly different shot.

The wobbliness is a result of the temporary nature of the structure.

I'm open minded, but does anyone feel the BBC need to go to such efforts to get a Newsroom with a Westminster backdrop?

Jeremy Thompson has his gas mask on in Kuwait City. The situation looks very scary. Jeremy also sounds very startled.
