Ummm, let's see. Left to right ~

BBC Cymru dragon late 80s -- S4C~ St Davids 2003 dragon bumper -- S4C Ysgolion/Schools dragon clock -- old S4C~ 'Entertainment' ident from mid 90s -- current S4C~ Ysgolion/Schools end of ident -- current Wales Today dragon -- Wedi 6 dragon -- one of the 1993-95 WT dragons..

I have the 93-95 WT dragon, when it drops down over the ident, but it flashes in and out of vision on the flag thingyo and you can't see it when it's small. That and the 95-99 WT dragon would complete my little tv dragon collection.

I may use it as a sig, but maybe not -- it makes me look a bit *too* Welsh. Sure I'm Welsh, but that's all anyone will see if they read my posts [esp. elsewhere on the boards]. So probably not.

Yeah sorry I forgot you told me before that you dont want a sig - im proud to be Welsh so I have a welsh flag as my avitar on the SS.com message board!

In the days when I watched Ysgolion on S4C they used to have a adapted version of the ITV Schools ident for S4C and then when C4 Schools replaced ITV Schools they had that one with the red balls on it - the current Ysgolion ones are boring!

And no dragon for HTV Cymru Wales?

I can't remember a time when HTV had a dragon as part of their ident. Does anyone know if they ever did?

No I dont think they have with an ident but HTV News used to have one when it was Wales TOnight!

I don't recall HTV ever using a dragon to be honest with you. The current HTV News uses a dragon underneath the pictures for the headlines and coming up graphics. But that's it.

Here's a Red Nose Day Derek special then, with a white t-shirt this time ~

TV D - I was right with my odds - the weekend presenter is indeed Nosworthy! Tara just announced it on the late news!

And could that Derek be any more camp! Very Happy

Okay, a slight branch of the topic for a moment.

I caught my first edition of "Not Getting Any" tonight on 2W, as I carefully avoided Red Nose channels.

A bit smutty, but VERY well written, I thought. Typical of Welsh "poetic" writing, in many ways, I felt.

Anyone else got any views on it?

Was that the programme that was on after the news on 2W? I caught about 10 mins of it, since it was just left on while I was rushing around like a headless chicken, ready to leave.

I wasn't sure about what I saw. These things on 2W have characters with such over-exaggerated Welsh accents and stereotyped characters, like High Hopes and the other one I've forgotten. The boy in High Hopes [well, he's probably my age but], I know his accent is strong, but the others just put them on.

The humour of these programmes is very 'Max Boyce'-y -- he's featuring in some current rugby trails on BBC Wales too -- and Max is very popular in Wales. So I guess if it's a winning formula..

High Hopes was on BBC ONE Wales also, wasn't it? Oh anyway. I like some of the factual stuff I've caught on 2W -- I've even found myself watching a programme on Welsh bridges or something, with Breakfast's Sian Williams.. Confused.
It must've been a bad tv day..

As compensation for not really answering your question Nick [for which I apologise], have another picture of Derek ~

Oh, more Derek, how nice!

Diolch yn fawr, I think!

No, the 9.15pm offering, straight off the back of the news, was Satellite City, which IS over emphasised in my opinion.

Not Getting Any was at 9.45pm and the next is at the same time on Tuesday, if you want to check it out.

Five girls sitting round a table talking about the obvious subject matter from the title.

As I said, a bit on the smutty side, but I just found the writing and its style very funny.

Picking up Jamie's point about hardly watching 2W, we've christened it "The Panorama Channel" here.

It has to be "all things to all (Welsh) men", so tends to be rather a hotch-potch.

But, like Panorama, although it's none too special most of the time, occasionally there's a little gem.

Satellite City was brilliant, well the first series was anyway!
