As a Scotsman, Andrew Murray is under no obligation to support England!
Just exactly why should the Celtic nations support England over Portugal? It's not like in league football that you'd support your local rival in matches you weren't involved with!
Once more (for the fiftieth time it feels), it's not about supporting England- for a Scotsman to do that would be unnecessary.
It's about not being anti-English. It's about not having an "anyone but the English" attitude.
It's about the Scots who actively invest in the shirts and merchandise of nations that are facing England....they are incapable of being neutral.
It's a shame and it reflects incredibly badly on the Scottish nation, especially amongst English people, who are the biggest commercial partner of Scotland.
Massive plug there for Walkers Sensations crisps, a woman in the audience was eating them with logo visible and Andrew Castle says "oh I love those red chilli ones. Once you've eaten one of those crisps you need to eat a hundred"
pfff...I don't really care who he supports against England, the guy's far too arrogrant for me anyway.
On the coverage side, I'm still a bit unsure about the 3D look on all the scoring and displays. I feel it works with the shiny gold on the world cup coverage, but seems a bit nasty looking to me with deep green.

Wimbledon have kindly put Andy Murray v Andy Roddick as third match on Centre, following Nadal v Agassi and Sharapova v Frazier. So Murray will be on late afternoon/early evening - perfectly timed to follow England v Portugal.
Not sure if Murray v Roddick warrants BBC1 coverage after the football - especially considering Doctor Who is scheduled at 7pm. But IMO England v Portugal followed by Murray v Roddick would be a ratings winner for BBC1. Doctor Who could follow the tennis in place of 'Hound of the Baskervilles'.

Highly unlikely. The BBC have been plugging Doctor Who left, right and centre (even during breaks between matches in Wimbledon coverage) as the series concludes with a two-parter, and the BBC will be banking on the football providing a big audience inheritance, so I cannot see Who being shifted.
Just for Laughs has been included in the schedules, presumbably as a filler programme which can be dropped easily if the England v Portugal match goes to extra time/penalties.

Surely even if the football finishes after 90 minutes, it will be 6pm before they can go to Wimbledon...the Murray match would almost certainly be well underway by this point and coming to an end for the evening.
I thought the plan was to put Murray v Roddick on at 1pm, allowing most of the match to be shown (on BBC One and Two) before kickoff in the football at 4pm.

No he's 4th on Centre Court, he couldn't be on 1st as he wouldn't have enough rest
The schedule kicks off at 1pm with Agassi v Nadal, then there's another Men's singles to finish after that
It'll be 5pm at the earliest before Sharapova v Frazier get on court, meaning Murray v Roddick won't start until after 6pm
Murray on BBC2 and a nice day weather wise will hit Doctor Who in the ratings
A BBC Sport scrollbar has just appeared saying 'Coming Up on BBC1 . . . England v Portugal at 4pm . . . and later Murray v Roddick live on Centre Court'. So who knows . . .
Also, sad to hear that former England fast-bowler Fred Trueman has died today. Hopefully there will be a mention of this at some stage during the Wimbledon coverage.
EDIT: . . . and right on cue, Garry Richardson is discussing the news with Michael Parkinson on BBC2. And quite rightly so.
EDIT: . . . and Murray is, of course, on BBC2. Wishful thinking, really.
