I shared my time between Home & Away, HTV News and the bad HTV News. They must have said about 5 or 6 times in the West [or 'Westcountry' as they wrongly call themselves], that something was given to HTV, or someone won't talk to HTV and something that was shown on HTV. It seems the West don't care at all about using the name over and over, no regard for any "ITV1". Wales mention HTV sometimes as well, quite rightly so -- they make the news, but still a fair share of "ITV1 Wales" as well..
Bad HTV News really is bad. They are good at their jobs, but you can only work with what you've got. Jenny said at the end, "We'll be back tomorrow, so.. hope you'll be there.." All slowly, without believing for a moment anyone will be back tomorrow at all..
Theirs is still an © HTV News Production, no mention of Carlton [seems the West is much more resistent to ITV1 and Carlton than Wales, which surprises me], and they have a news stories hotline -- somethine Wales doesn't bother with. They also have a check on the regions motorways at the end. All 2 of them. But then Wales has only one, so I can't be that rude.. And their pretend widescreen-ness also, it's not washing. I remember in 2001, HTV News had THREE different looks and again has been on this new one since then. And they have *all* been awful. This tacky turquoise and blue and pink is just *ugh*. No wonder no-one watches.
And if you're criticising Lucy's hair, then you clearly didn't see Jenny's. [Or her make up..] Ok, I'll stop now before I get into trouble again.
Weather in the West was Charlie Neil.
It's a travesty how that guy was left to die on Snowdon, incredible. And Justina and Tara both did reports this evening, but were out-of-vision, as usual. I think Lee Walters probably comes from the valleys somewhere, Bridgend, Rhondda etc. But not Merthyr -- he doesn't sound THAT common..
