This may be a dumb question, but does anyone know what font is used on the generic titles on ITV programmes? The titles such as:

It's Helvetica (Ariel is similar, though it is a botched Microsoft version).

I think it's Swiss actually, which seems to be the font of the moment.

Like said above, it's either Helvetica or Swiss - both are, for the most part, alike.

Steddenm, check your PM. Wink

Surprise me if I'm wrong but aren't Swiss and Helvetica exactly the same font family, just different names? From what I know, it's what two different font foundries (specifically Bitstream and Monotype) call the same typeface family.

It seems to me that the two fonts are exactly the same, only they have different names for some reason.

Reason being that Bitstream had to rename it in order to sell it though Bitstream specialise in getting well-known fonts and renaming them for the benefit of the original foundry so they can sell in other territories which leads to most Bitstream fonts going for free, just google for "free swiss font" and there they are, who needs Helvetica?

It's pants really, wouldn't use Swiss for the most part because of that.

Well cheers Nicky, I now have the Swiss family of fonts.
