BR
I'm sure many off you think a year-long series was a bit mad - but today is day 365 of the fifth series of Big Brother Germany. For me it doesn't work - although fine from the pyschological experiment point of view, as a game it doesn't have a beginning, middle and end with housemates coming and going. I don't think any of the original housemates were left by today.
Anyhow, as one series end the next (and if successful, last) series begins. Tomorrow "Big Brother Forever" begins.
15 contestants will move into the Big Brother Village complete with market square, houses and other ammenities. Over the next year €1,000,000 will be up for grabs - and will also be available in every subsequent year, as this Big Brother will has no end in sight.
The 15 housemates will be split into three groups - poor, normal and rich. They'll all have to work - but jobs will depend on their social status. They'll also be set life enhancing challenge such as learning a new language (not very useful if your stuck in the BB Germany set for the rest of your life!) Celebrities will also drop in from time to time.
Producers hope for marriages, sex and babies.
Not only will the villagers be filmed 24/7, they'll also be on view to the public as the village is designed so visitors can watch what's happening in the human zoo.
Not sure what you think of this idea - I find it a bit too much myself. Big Brother is a fantastic TV show over a few months every year - but not a lifetime!
