I realise this video is hardly astounding and not much of a visual orgasm, but I was just thinking today about what would happen if C4 were to introduce an ident along the lines of the original blocks whilst fitting into the current set.
Yes, it's very rough round the edges - the blocks should probably be moving, the camera work more swish, last a LOT longer and the environment should be more interesting, but I wanted to really just play around with some ideas - get some feedback going etc.
There were more establishing shots at the beginning but I took them out because they were going too fast, and being the incredibly patient person I am couldn't be arsed rendering more.

Oooo I like the idea, you're already said the things I was going to say, perhaps slow it down so you get more time to see the "4" but it's an intresting and a good idea, jolly good!

That is bloody fantastic!
Great to see that you have brought back the original 4. Very Happy

Then why did you post the mock?

It wasn't that impressive seeing as how high everyone's standards on this forum have seem to become.

Here's why.

Quite impressive as an initial idea - I'd like to see more of it!

I can see the idea of a child playing with some wooden blocks or something, then throwing them and they gradually slow down then suspend in mid air, with the camera moving around the blocks to reveal the C4 logo!

Perhaps not... ah well, good stuff.

I wasn't trying to woo anyone - I'm just exploring ideas. I've made an improved version of that one, but sense it'd be somewhat futile posting it.

I did start working on a night-time illuminated skyscraper one but couldn't really figure out how best to go about it so it's somewhat....abandoned.

That is very good and you obviously have the skill for good mocks.

Or simply rendering primitives, I don't know.

that was very harsh and uncalled for - I thought the mock was a great concept and beings together the old and new very well.

I think the video does not need anything in the backgroud as that would ruin the whole idea of it. (IMHO)

There are too many "commenters" on this forum who model themselves on Simon Cowell - uncalled for criticism which is far from constructive, and similarly, a complete lack of talent in the field that they are judging.

Would be surprised if half of these plastics could do anything half-as-good - I'm sure other people who do mocks can appreciate the effort, if nothing else, of work such as this.

Yes, there are **** mocks about, but this was not one of them.
