I've been working on a concept called 'news247', creating a music package. Here's a sample of the title music for the main bulletins.

The presentation of the channel is intended to be clear yet authoritative. Many people find the news inaccessible - interviews will be direct and straightforward on the channel, asking questions more directly to find out about how events come about etc.

The channel will also have more chat-geared shows, with people discussing the news and regular segments of longer, in-depth interviews and the thoughts of people on the street.

The music is intended to have authority yet warmth and a slight welcoming feel to it.

Actually Daniel, there actually IS a news channel that broadcasts in India called news 24/7. Its the Indian equivalent of BBC News 24.

What do you think of them?

A few simple principles. The news247 DOG always remains on screen. The clock, after a commercial break, will animate in from underneath the logo.

The clock, as you can see, differs by programme. For example, TODAY is the nightly bulletin, and uses a darker black clock, which will also be used during moments of sad news.

During rolling news coverage, the clock is purple and the programme name replaced with the date. During this time, breaking news may be covered. The ivory breaking news box will push down the clock, and will initially form part of a ticker, with early details appearing there.

Then, once the story is being covered and more details come in, the larger purple banner, here 'Heathrow Crash' appears, with a ticker beneath.

The 'live' box can also be used with 'latest' and pictures', when an interview is repeated or not live, and pictures are from another channel/source.

There are two main sports programmes: SportWorld and SportDay, the first of which is broadcast in two editions, at around 9:15 for 45 minutes and after the lunchtime bulletin at 14:15 for 45 mins. SportWorld airs for 30mins at 23:30, after the business update 'Briefcase', which is at 23:15 after the news.

Sport's clock is ivory in colour. The regular sports updates during rolling coverage, however, keep standard colours.

I know they're simple, but that's the idea!

i don't relly like them, the purple makes the mock look relly bad

i have recreated the news247 breaking news mock to bring in a more news flash look

Two points to raise though:

The the usage of only plum and grey means that the edges of the individual elements around the 'news247' DOG merge to form a slightly confused, undefined space, thus detracting from the authority of the brand. Also, there is no indication of 'Breaking News' - and how would a name aston fit into your design, given that with the ticker gone, then there's no point in a ticker existing, and with the words 'Heathrow Crash' removed, the ticker has no relevance!

Not criticising your work, by any means, but just accounting for all eventualities!

Why can't I see them?

newswatch, it may be that your computer is a bit slow with loading large images
go around, where the heathrow crash is there could be breaking news coming around as if it is being typed every few seconds and the second peice, the breaking news background is a bit bright and not in a good way, i would change the colouring and your mocks are way too big so please make them a bit smaller. the graphics take up the whole of the screen and thats why i changed it a little bit.

these are just points to improve on, i am not having a go on you
