Those 2 passengers on Sky News were like characters from Little Britain. The way the wife kept interrupting the husband.

Jane Hill is BBC ONE reader tonight - I presume she was featured for continuity on BBC ONE - and to avoid powering up the main news studio in advance of the 2215 bulletin she did the report in N24's studio resulting in a brief simulcast.

I notice that Sky keep repeating the audio of the eye witness, who said that the driver of the car commited suicide. Although they are not commenting on that, and leave in Alan's response that nothing is confirmed.

Sky have captioned one eyewitness as a "Survivor".

Another annoying misjudgement by Sky News....surely somebody in the Sky News Centre must also get ****ed off by the sensationalism of such statements. Why do they never change.

Actually, it WAS a survivor - she had been on the train at the time.

Suicide is being reported from many sources.

The crossing was not at fault, Network Rail confirmed.

The car was stationary on the line on impact, if that car had broken down then the driver DID NOT call the signal man from the emergency telephone at the crossing.

Imagine being the train driver bearing down on that scene at 100mph knowing there is absolutely nothing you can do.
