I think the Starsky and Hutch one from last year showed what can be done with the five logo and these really build on the brand. Very well done to five.

The CSI ident is great, as I've never watched CSI I've never seen that. Is that one that five have produced or is it taken from the titles of the show or something and five have added their logo?

AFAIK it was directly produced by five. I know I might be ridiculed for this but I do believe that five have some of the best idents to grace our screens this year by keeping to good ideas that people remember the channel by and also getting a simple idea and using it effectively and creatively, much like the old idents we look at fondly but for this century.

Wow! Very well produced by five, and this is the reason why I believe that they will produce the best idents this christmas.

They only part of the five presentation that i'm sick of is the endboards on trailers, as they've been the same couple (the main middle, and the version bottom left), though with their current look I'm not sure what else they could do.

That CSI is an absolutely spectacular ident - a huge well done to five for producing this new batch (although they're still using the rather dull plain now/next idents too). I'm looking forward to catching them onscreen...

Yes. It's a shame that they haven't redone the now and next screen by doing something interesting with it.
Perhaps doing a sort of e4 thing of flying through the word next and through whatever programme, then through the word now and the programme, and then have them both on screen, or have them some how turn into the five logo.

But I agree these are very well produced idents, and that CSI ident shows that you can make idents for your programmes without using the celebs.

I'm quite liking the new movies idents too, good music, and the way the scene changes is quite imaginative sometimes. Anyway, few more:

Really like the way the furniture becomes the skyscrappers and how the first helicopter is sitting on the speaker.

I was reading broadcast today and it mentioned that five was looking for new documentaries in its 1915 to 2000 weeknight slot because ofcom had finally allowed it drop 15minutes of the news at 1900

Indeed they have. And I presume that this will coincide with the relaunch and change of producers to Sky News, it's definately happening when theye move to sky, and I don't think they'd do it before hand, as that would make sense!

Tsk. It's me again! Been ident spotting once more, and noticed a variation of the ant ident, with an anteater! Anyway, was a short anouncement so the end was cut off but it looks like one of the ants gets eaten...

On another note, I notice the way five now broadcast 4:3 prorammes has changed, where as before they did it like the BBC and put black bars down either side, they have changed to the channel 4/ITV way. If you see what I mean, not very clear I know, so I'll demonstrate with pictures.
