Well I haven't ever seen an ident apart from Jonathan & Lucy before a local HTV programme [cept HTV News of course], not least because there aren't any other local ones!

Didn't watch The Ferret, since it's EastEnders for me [sorry Jez] -- but I have caught Sarah Hibbard before on it [former Swansea correspondent you know..], and she was good. And she gave Juliet back to us as well.

Yep Andrew Jones was bright and breezy [or erm, perhaps not -- God, I have a problem with him Rolling Eyes] yesterday, and I'm expecting him again in ooo, 45 mins. Joy.
Jonathan and Lucy would usually share the 15:05 bulletin wouldn't they, so yeah that's about 7 and a half bulletins a week. Mr Jones is officially on HTV... too much!

I didn't see HTV News yesterday, since I was sharing my time with Channel 5, and another soap I'm sure Jez disapproves of. Sad news indeed to hear chuckle box was on it -- let's hope he doesn't anchor the main programme again. Dark days indeed.. More Justina! Bring us more Justina! Smile

And at least someone else is now agreeing with me about sour Cath..

And as for wiggy Arfon -- he does like his antiques programmes doesn't he.. I think he missed his calling -- maybe we could've avoided David Dickenson entirely, and the whole country could've been treated to Bargain Hunt with Arfon Haines-Davies. And Shortland St yes, how could we forget.

Do you know swanseas-sound, I'm not sure if I've been to Penarth, so I'll have to take your word for it. If anyone's not been to Mumbles [Chez Zeta Jones], or further along, perhaps to Oxwich or Port Eynon -- I recommend it. Pop along in the summer months and splash out on an ice-cream or three. A more pleasant afternoon you'll struggle to find.

TD - I watched SS today on ITV1 - It was good!

Wiggy loves his Antiques shows yet - I wonder if he would ever consider doing the HTV News again?

And why do you hate Cath so much - Ruth, Stuart, Richard,C arol and Andrew are all worse then her!

I don't know why you don't like Ruth - I like her.

It's the HTV old school I dislike like Wiggy Haynes-Davies, Dilwyn 'I fancy your uncle' Young-Jones etc...

Ruth is annoing and I refuse to change my opinion of her - I felt sorry for her when she lost her baby etc but she still annoys me when she's on.

Catherine Evan-Williams doesnt annoying me as much as those others i'd mentioned - but I did find it funny when TD called her a sour cow - i nearly died laughing! Very Happy

Ruth's got a fab arse - tsk at you!! Smile

Who's that bloke in your signature?

I'm sure I've said why I think Catherine Evan-Williams is a sour cow many times [double-barrelled name, if you please, is almost enough reason in itself]! Ruth Wignall is much friendlier, more cheerful, more pleasant, and has a nicer personality on-screen as well.

And Jamez, you leave wiggy alone -- HTV would never have been so stuffy, old-fashioned and dusty haired if it weren't for him and his enormous-rimmed glasses Cool

Everyone looked the same in those days -- Arfon Haines-Davies, Dilwyn Young-Jones, Huw Weeks and Alan Rustad all looked pretty similar to me. Of course Nicola didn't..

The rest of the 2001 Census statistics are out tomorrow, and Rhun ap Iorwerth is going to go through them tomorrow on Wales Today. These include the figures for the number of Welsh speakers in Wales, and we will see if there is an increase [for the first time in decades] on the 18.7% it stood at in 1991.

I worked on compiling the Census during 2001/2 and it's my opinion there will be a rise, and this will have a significant effect in Wales -- on spending, policy, provision of services, schooling, television, the public sector, legal systems etc. And Plaid will be happy too. If they see it increase, they'll recognise a demand and the Welsh language's presence will increase. But don't worry Jamez, I'm sure Pembs will stand oblivious to it anyway.. Wink

Oh, and Derek had a red nose on this evening, for comedy value. The man's a star.

It's a shame that there is so little welsh spoken in my area. It's only the bi-lingual road signs that let you know that you're actually IN Wales!! Confused

..and the countryside and beaches of course! You won't find anything like those in England. Wink

Incidentally, I have very much enjoyed Huw Edwards' The Story of Welsh over the last 5 weeks, and it's the last one tonight, at 22:35. He will be covering from 1982 onwards, which is of course the establishment of S4C~. He left us at perhaps the darkest time for the Welsh language, and the political campaigns of the 60s and 70s, establishment of the first Welsh Language Act, demonstrations, rural decline and decay, defacing of road signs [hence why they're bilingual now], flooding Welsh language villages, and many many arrests.

A great series from BBC Wales I think -- and it can be viewed by non-Welsh people tomorrow on 2W, and some other time on BBC FOUR.

Yes, I have a few -- but the last thing I want to see is her sour face on this thread all the time! Shocked
You must be joking.. Razz

You can use the one on the front page, and chop it up and reduce it to upload if you want. That hat/brooch/sour face combo is a classic..

I don't care! She's not going to come round and stare at me is she? It's only the local news programme. As if she'd be bothered either.. Confused

Here, have a couple of Catherine pics. Aren't they horrid? Though I can think of much nicer HTV people to have -- Wiggy for example, or Lucy, or Juliet, or Ruth! But not Andrew...

Notice how she doesn't smile.
