I hope you like what i've done here, you are right about the ENTER key i will do more menus like the actual channel hour by hour guide, if demanded SO if you want to see more then SAY SO!!! I have added 4 screenshots of the guide incase you havn't got flash!!
I know it's a GIF and it looks bad quality (only the background!!) i'm going to upload them to my actual server (gameplayworld.com) and get them out to you crystal clear!!! I'm going to soon change the colours and see what it looks like will be exciting!!
P.S. i also forget to mention in my first post that you can also using the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys to go to i.e. BOX OFFICE and SERVICES etc i'm sure you've figured that one out for yourselfs. Also i know about the width of the bars before anyone says it's the computer screen resolution of 1024x768 i'm working on so you are basically viewing the sky guide in complete widescreen mode NOT TO WORRY!!
You may be thinking to yourselfs how his done it or why well i tell you now i was told about TVfourm by a contact & why i'm posting Sky EPG's is the fact that way back long ago i actually was part of the programing and design team at BSKYB which was developing the new and was to be the BEST EPG around. I was mainly the bloke that designed the user interaction features to the EPG and the colouring like the yellow selecter bar. So there you go you now know who i am!! any questions or suggestions please post a reply and will hopefully get back to you.
Hopefully some day next week, as you can see i have put 100% effort into this by i.e. the TV GUIDE, BOX OFFICE images at the top and the colouring to make it look real and to the standard when i was working at BSKYB!!
A question for all of you when replying please state weather you've got Sky or now and out of 10 what you think to it compared to the one on your telly any suggestions on a new colour scheme.
Well I haven't got Sky but my Grandad has so I've seen his EPG. Yours is similar but it's never going to be exactly the same so 7/10. In terms of effort though: 20/10!
As i said it won't look the same by we are viewing it through a computer screen rather than a TV screen (but it operates exactly the same i made sure of that and when you see the TV listings page then you might say diffrently)
My title was Sky EPG UID (user interaction developer) i was employed by sky to manage the team of UIP's (user interaction programer)'s to develop the easy to use EPG which any user could use, even kids of 5+, As there wasn't many EPG's to nick ideas from i.e. NTL, Telewest, ITV digital/on digital, Freeview. we spent a very long time developing the way a user is to interact with this piece of ground-breaking technology. We was given the main specifications and the design department showed us the way it was to look! I won't go into to many details but the user parts you do on the EPG are really the channel shortcuts like pushing 103 for ITV and others like the blue button for your favourite channels and also importantly the yellow selecter bar to navigate through the various menus. If you want more details or want to ask me a question then simply put that in your reply!!
Most probally exclusive information which i must just tell you about the BACKGROUND to the current EPG will be changing very, very soon a friend still working in the EPG department at BSKYB told me the other day! To go alongside the new sky rebranding thing.
He said that the background will be something very simlar to the great new package application which created the background to SkyGameStar cant wait to see it, i'll try and get a mock of the background of SkyGameStar and add it to the EPG above latter on!!
