Just got a time-lapse of the set makeover...

It's lit very well, and is rather colourful, it's just the checkered window is just really distracting. I'm sure i'll get used to it though.

I do like the shot with both the interviwer and interviewee, as we get a nice pillar lit with a sort of bluish neon light, it's very good!

Those windows though...arggh!

Oh I know! Those windows look like a couple of bits of cardboard stuck together! Rolling Eyes

I only switched it on in the last second of the title sequence, it looked as though they haven't changed it. Have they?

You'd think that with widescreen coming in the titles would change with it.

And they still haven't changed the webcam, lol.

Well I for one like it!
The same logo has been kept, the logo is now shiny on the top of the hours and graphics move, even on 2 way screens, they have a lovely yellow covered GMTV Today backing, and the astons have the blue moving background.

I think I'd have let the graphics department have more fun with the graphics. If you've changed, you may aswell make it a big change, but it's still nice and subtle. They could have a a white line flying out of the corner of the clock, and making a rounded cornered rectangle and then to the bottom corner. And they could have changed the live strap too.
But if they like ir and are used to it, good for them!

It's good that they haven't changed the News Hour graphics, yet changed everything else to shiny.

As for the set...
I Love it!
Sorry if anyone else doesn't, but I think it's great!
Everything looks nice and posh, the sofa's slightly circular, I even like the windows.
Even theough they may look a bit off at first, they look bettered than if they'd have left the backdrop on it's own.
The only problem is that it stil doesn't match the weather, unless they can change the lighting behind it, that would be clever!

I think it's an excellent step in the right direction and a good move (for the set) into the 21st century.
I still don't understand (watching that time lapsed footage) why they've put a door up at that top corner, unless the presenters use this to get off the set when News Bulletins air, etc.

I love the fact that it's very well lit, was it me or were there coloured light hitting John & Penny's faces at the start at 6?

All in all, i'm loving it! Hopefully Lorraine's area and the performance area (if they've changed that) will look as good.
But from that wide before perhaps they haven't added lorraine's set yet.

I love it too. Was that a new presenter ident at the beginning? It looked good. I don't like the clock very much, very butlins. It's a nice change and has a refreshed feel.

I like it too. The only things I would change are the windows - I'd have blured that view out slightly, and the clock - I'd at least get rid of the white border as its flickering too much for me at this time of day. Nice, modern and spaceous though definitly all good.

The weather stings seem to be missing too, that caught Andrea out. I can only imagine thats a temporary thing.

Seems that LK Today is returning in September. Perhaps they haven't got round to finishing her set yet Wink

From the sleek and shiny new GMTV Studio to Channel TV regional opt-out, where they just can't stop making mistakes, it's cringe-worthy! Laughing

The 7 o'clock regional opt-out was much better though Razz
