Overall this channel looks quite good, and BTW where will this be put on Freeview?? ITV have 3 channels on their MUX allready?...and channel 4 have their 3 slots filled with C4, E4, More 4.
Perhaps they'll squeeze it in by lowering the bit rate for all the other channels. We all know what that means.
I too got the BBC Three impression.
I like the idea of the cube, but why can't each part of ITV use the same logo, or logo type?
I sort of understand the ITV2 reversal of the colours - as it supposed to give the impression of being the flipside to ITV1, I still don't get the gaps though.
Then comes the ITVi logo, same style as ITV2, with gaps between each box, yet the logo comes in black and red, but why?
And now ITV3 that has gone for blue cubes, but with white lettering and a totally different font for the number 3.
And then you have ITV News that doesn't have a box around the logo, yet uses the 4 cubes beneath.
But what can they doto rectify it all?
Do they make ITV1 into boxes instead of one whole logo?
Do they give each channel their own colour scheme ala BBC?
Or most probably the likely one, do they do nothing and leave the company looking a mess?
ITV looked more together when it was the seperate regions, as towards the end they all featured the ITV/ITV1 logo, ITV News used a boxed logo, and so did ITV2, so where did it all go wrong, or at what point did somebody lose their touch, or thei sight!
Now I know ITV3 is not 100% confirmed going to be on Freeview (But lets face it, Charles Allan would have made it a Pay TV Channel by now if they decided not to put it on freeview, because no fat cat ITV big cheese would have a New channel being Free and then only going On Sky and Cable. You may as well have it a Pay one if its only going on those platforms!
Any way moving on to what I wanted to talk about. Where on Freeview is it going to go??? There are no relevant channel numbers left! And no way are ITV going to be happy about it being on 30 something after all the kids channels.
What I think ITV should do is get hold of the channel number, which is being wasted in the UK, Channel 13. Now I know that’s for S4C2, which is only on for god knows, Two days a week for 8 hours or so, and I bet hardly anyone watches it!!! S4C2 should be in the News section just like it is on Sky! ITV should make a deal with S4c to move it to 47 or whatever number so they can have 13, now that sounds all right by me! Then if Channel 4 move E4 to 24 (So its next to almost all the Top up channels) than have More 4 on Ch 14, the Freeview Line up will look good (And for the common English man, every number from 1 to 30 odd will be filled then apart from ch8 which is hardly missed)
Who else think the DTT line up will look OK (and in a GOOD order) if ITV and C4 do what I think? Even with all the shopping channels and the pay c*ap in the way, the top 30 order looks not to bad!....quite pleasing to the eye. Well for folk who have only spent £40 quid (or less) on a box, its worth the very little amount spent because at the end of the day, you get what you pay for!
ITV could reach an agreement with Teletext (cf Channel 4) the long awaited Interactive ITV has not arrived on FV. Therefore if they promised Teletext that if anyone pressed the text button on ITV1, 2 or 3 then they would get Teletext (as per Analogue TV on ITV) then FV channel 9 could be relinquished by Teletext - they could move to say 56. Channel 9 could then be available for ITV3.

Why the hell should they? This is for all the ex-pats around the uk to watch - if you don't like it , well tough. ITV3 is going to be a load of old toss anyway , just look at itv1 & 2 . Cer i uffern.
