Glad those of you who made it to Edinburgh had a good time ... as Gavin said all the staff taking part are really friendly and will help you to have a go - we know that most people will never have done it before - that's the whole point of News and Sport on Tour. It's also worth pointing out that the directors of the TV News bulletins are all or were before going into management News 24/BBC World directors. I think it's Jane Hill who's the national presenter coming to Birmingham but don't quote me on that. We look forward to seeing some of you there. As was also pointed out if you want a chance of doing the TV presenting get there earlish as the sessions get booked up very quickly once people see someone else doing it. It's slightly easier to get a radio session like Gavin did. Hopefully my voice will hold out for the whole event Laughing

Hopefully Jane will be at Birmingham this weekend, as well as one of BBC World's top presenters on Saturday. There will also be a couple of Sports presenters, a Weather Presenter and loads of staff from local TV and Radio

Would that be Nick Gowing by any chance?!?!?!?! Laughing

It might be Very Happy

Any idea which of the local Brum staff are appearing ?

( I might pop & have a look(depends what time I surface on Saturday!), but I'll keep out of the way of 'any volunteers please', if you don't mind !)

I'm usually more sober than he is.

But not always.

Can anybody here tell me exactly what they were talking about when they mentioned someone helping out a correspondent on Sunday? They took my name and number down as they thought I was quite good (not bad considering I am only 15) and was wondering what exactly it was, even though they didn't call me! Sad

Rookie Reporter Challenge:
At every event a member of the public who has come along to read the news or sport and who the team think has the most potential to be an event reporter is asked to spend the final day of the event with them, making a film about the event for their local BBC News output. The Breakfast team will choose an overall “winner” from the 5 regional/national “winners” and offer them a chance to make an event film for BBC Breakfast at some stage.

Why does the image of you in the monitor looks super imposed? Is it just the way the monitor is, very odd.

Danny Kelly, Jimmy Franks, Mike Taylor, Jenny Jones, Nikki Tapper will all probably be popping along at some point

Not sure. The original pic is HUGE and the detail is impressive. It does look stuck on, but its real I assure you.
