It is refreshing to see something else as aposed to the usual thing. Looks nice. The 6.00 report via videophone seemed to have a different backing and was using the corporate globe, not the usual News 24 one. Looked much better, and wasn't covered by the LIVE/LOCATION dog. Reminds me of the days before N24 used to lose 3 hours.

News 24 set ... and Moira gets to stand up to do the news ....
And now she's sitting on a stool ... must have got tired
Was she standing before? My alarm didn't go off so I missed MoiraVision™ this morning. I presume it was Rob and Moira at the desk.
It's all rather fab isn't it? Is the weekday team different than the weekend team as this lot are using the graphics much better than they do on Saturday and Sunday.
I don't know why they aren't using the overhead camera for the regional news though.

Or the wide shot of the studio in which Moira would be visible.

Uncle Bruce, or should that be auntie!!!! Why on earth you have replied to this some 4 pages on is quite beyond me. The argument died hours ago after Nicky S replied himself, hence why I left it where it was!!!!!!!!! You are obviously out for a argument whereas I am not, and have not been since i started posting here. On that note I bid you goodnight!
Goodnight.
You made a point, I answered it again. As far as I could see the arguement was far from over. You claimed you had a 'valid point', I said you didn't.
I picked it back up pages later because, shock horror, I'd been out for the evening. Please forgive me, fellow forumers, my attention to the website had to wain for a few hours.

And your screensaver too - but options include the beige/red News titles, or standard BBC ones (which are logos flying around the screen, on a dark blue background. In a tasteful way, of course)
It seems kind of odd to me that the standard BBC swirly desktop picture is 640x480, though. Especially when most PCs in the organisation are new enough to happily support 1024x768...

Well they use XP so they could just set it to stretch.
The BBC logo screensaver is rather fab, I've seen it on the old Reporting Scotland monitor before they revamped. Has that one leaked out yet?
Also does anyone use that foul BBC News screensaver that was found on bbc.co.uk/downloads ?

Because it's a source. Might be a rival source, but it's still a source. Presumably someone in the newsroom was keeping tabs on Sky News.
I can assure you that Sky News is not treated as a reliable source. However you have to monitor your main rivals. It's why there is a feed of Sky news in the News24 Gallery, CNN in the World one and GMTV in the Breakfast one
Indeed. I noticed the other day that News 24 was on a small monitor in the Sky newsroom when they were doing an interview. I suppose the dilemma is whether to run a story simply because your rivals are, or to find out more yourself first.
That's not a dilemma. No reputable news organisation would run a story without checking it out themselves first.

Yeah, Rob and Moira at the desk from 6-6.30, then she was shunted to the right-hand alcove (wasn't sure if the screen was off and transparent or, more likely, had a view from a camera looking into the newsroom behind). Some great tight shots of her at the start of her slot and a good hand-over angled shot across the set at the start and end.
The start of each half hour got an apologetic mention about being in a different location to usual (silly Natasha though, referring to it as a 'temporary news studio' at 7 - has she never been near News 24 before?)
