Talking about what the main story is tonight, why the hell should Manhunt the game be banned?!?
There is no way it would turn a boy into a murderer... and anyway the boy playing it was 14 years old - if anything then the mother is to blame for letting him have it anyway. It is an EIGHTEEN certificate, 18 for a reason!!

Some people in this country make me so mad!!

You can say that again, Im sick of people saying what other people can or cant do, games will be banned altogether if this carries on. All because of one death from a game in how long? Other peoples fun shouldnt end on someones tragedy!

When is the showbiz news on ITV2?

Thanks,

Five minutes to 10 nightly on ITV2, I think. It's certainly on every Monday.

Are they using this new studio at 9.30pm as well? Does this mean the London studio is now no longer seen on the News Channel?

No, the ITV News Network continues to be in the London Tonight studio.

What about the 10pm bulliten, does that come from the new CSO or the LT studio?

Thanx,

No, they seem to stay in the London Tonight studio until 10.30pm, or at least they did on Monday night. The new 2nd studio can be seen prior to the Lunchtime & Evening news.

Thanks Luke.

In response to the "Manhunt" game, the victims mother is of course extremly distraght at the loss of her child. It does lie in the hands of the adult who bought the game (asuming the parents did buy it) but I think they are probably looking towards similar action to the Jamie Bulger case, where the "Child Play 3" movie was banned because it influenced the killers. There's an argument on both sides, but surely tougher regulations are needed for video games.

Who's Helen McCarthy? Andrea Catherwood is a decent newscaster but I would like to see her being a war correspondent, but she has said if she was a war correspondent, she will quit ITN so that is out of the question, I suppose.

I think Gavin meant Heather McCarthy.

Supposing it was an 18 year old boy who was obsessed with this game Manhunt and then went and murdered someone? Seems credible to me.

It appears now she's back that Andrea Catherwood is the second choice host of the Evening News, while Bill Neely seems to be preffered to James Mates.

It's a shame Katie Derham was shifted off to London Tonight. With John Suchet leaving and Mary Nightingale off at least one night a week, I think they should have kept her as the regular stand in on the Evening News and the 10.30pm bulletin and used Felicty Barr for London Tonight - a job she could easily combine with the 10.30pm sport.

I think next year when (and if) Trevor McDonald quits that Katie will become the anchor of the Lunchtime News, with Nicholas Owen moving to 6.30pm and Mark Austin to 10.30pm - although surely as the Evening News has twice as many viewers than at 10.30pm, this would really be a demotion.

Are my eyes playing up, but I saw a bit of US Election Weekly earlier and by any chance is Sasha Herriman pregnant?

Katie does appear to be making the Friday edition of the late news her own though, appearing most weeks.

Not forgetting being the main stand in on the lunchtime news when Nick is off and occasional appearances on the evening news. She gets the best of all worlds really.

After all, some thought we'd never see her again on ITV News after the relaunch and she's all over the place

Bloody hell!!

It's the same as saying all horror movies are to blame for people killing other people - I mean just LOOK at some of the films that are out these days. It's a load of tripe and I blame the parents. A 17 year old lad has been allowed to become supposedly 'obsessed' with an 18 rated game.

Seems to be an all irish affair on the Evening News. Where have Mark and Mary gone? I never really rated Andrea Catherwood that much as a newsreader, she was not really clear enough, she has improved a lot though recently and i think she's doing a good job.

Katie still does stand in occasionally on Evening News.

It'd be nice if they made the Lunchtime News a double presented programme, seems awfully odd that a poor presenter has to stand up for practically the whole bulletin, whereas on Evening News they share it. I think Lunchtime News viewers will miss Nick Owen's adlibbing throughout the bulletin, he's made it his own. I'd rather see Katie getting 10.30, she seems to be the main cover for Trevor.
