Well, RT said Sophie's back in September, it feels like three months since she went off air, so that's five months she may have spent off -- and Mishal looks about 6 months pregnant so she'll be taking off probably about next 2 weeks, so yes we may see Kate and Jane, but in Sept. it'll probably be:

BREAKFAST
Natasha/Dermot: Thursday/Friday
Sian/Bill: Monday - Wednesday, Sat/Sun

SIX
Soph/George: Monday - Wed
Sian/George: Thurs/Fri

OK, it's just speculation remember!

Speculation it may be, but Dermot and Natasha will not just be presenting 2 days a week - they are MAIN anchors.

And I doubt Sian will be presenting 7 days a week either.

Not only is the globe and the "24" back to orange on N24, but the tower rose in from the bottom at the top of the hour (rather than twirling in).

I'm speechless.

Back to normal at 1600, newish red titles and twirling tower back.

I think it could have been a backup TOG that was being used for the past few hours, which had not been updated with the new scene file for the live rendered titles, and might have a more simple configuration than the main TOG, so could not do the twirling 3D effect.

The orange titles are vastly better than the new ones. Also the new silver 24 looks really poor in comparison to the old one, if they just made it the same size as the orange one it would make it much better.

Huw's having another week off next week! Gosh. He had last week off too. Surely he must of used all his holiday time up now or could it be he is working on another project?

And yes, I meant Natasha has broken up with her boyfriend not Mishal.

Been meaning to ask this - during the virtual -era Breakfast News, did they play the full opening titles at *.30 or was there a shorter sting used?

Thanks.

Might have been covered, but has anyone considered the possible summer visit of Australia-based Michael Peschardt to the presentation team? Would cover the inexplicable anchor shortage!

Does anyone get the feeling that good ol' Phil Hayton will be having a significant amount of time off??? He does 6 days a week, 4 hours Mon-Fri and 4 hours on Sun afternoon. He has also stood in for Chris Lowe on a saturday night...

Does he ever rest???

I'm looking forward to seeing Dermot on the Six - I think he could be very good and should replace George eventually. I wouldn't be surprised if Dermot and Natasha become the main presenters on the Six. Maye when Anna Ford retires Sophie can switch to the one and George can be the second presenter on the Ten, leaving Fiona to present other programmes (although I think that might not please some people on this forum).

The 6 needs presenters with a bit of character. I agree that Dermot would be good. Natasha has already presented the 10 and was pretty good (after all, thats why the BBC poached her from Sky). Alagiah is boring, like Chris Lowe and most of the female presenters on 24.

Dermot and Jane Hill for the 6. Raworth back to Look North in Leeds, and Kaplinsky on the 1.

At around 7.30pm Shaun Ley was interviewing some people about the government spending review in a very familiar studio. Can anyone tell me which studio it was from? I think it was the Dateline London studio, can anyone confirm?

Anything to do with politics is usually done from Millbank - so I suppose it would be the Dateline London studio.

Not strictly the "Dateline London" studio - it is the standard Millbank Newsroom set - and not a studio as such. It was used for years for Westminster Live (before this became The Daily Politics and moved into the Millbank studio) as well as many English regional as-lives for the old BBC Two regional parliamentary programmes (before The Politics Show and their move to an opt-out of this) Dateline London has used this set (along with its gauze curtain) in a number of incarnations - but Dateline has also come from the Millbank studio as well as the newsroom set.

It's only half way through the World Business Report but already Jamie Robinson has introduced himself 3 times as being "in London" when he's currenly over in New York Laughing Poor guy can't get readjusted!
