Did anyone capture Breakfast at around 7.45? It was leading into Richard Bakers special report on TV news at 50. It showed a fantastic aerial studio shot looking straight down on the sofa. They also closed the programme with that shot. Looked great!

Same camera as the newsnight flyover camera? Did it show the whole studio (including half the newsnight set behind the cameras), or just the breakfast half?

It seemed higher than the Newsnight flyover camera, as mentioned earlier i think it was attached to the poles where the lights are, and it only showed the sofa - i couldn't see Moira's desk or the NN set

IIRC the newsnight camera is pretty high anyway, not sure if it can be increased. Either way the track it's on will be on two hoists that can be raised/lowered. It seems pretty silly to rent a new camera when there's a perfectly good one there anyway.

I think I preferred it how it was...especially the half past sting - now it dont work so well with the music especially the start.

Anyway, heres some caps if you really need them Rolling Eyes Confused Very Happy
BBC News 24 - Opening Titles
BBC News 24 - Half Past Sting

There is a half head sting in existence which has a slight crash at the start - that would possibly be better with the new visuals, especially as it starts with a dramatic shift of the ribbons. I really do like the visuals on the half head sting - it looks brilliant!

I remember when the orange titles were adopted, everyone was moaning that they didn't match the studio, they were too 2D etc. Now that they've rectified it, people still don't like it! I'm pleased with them - they look fab!

Aww bless also because they've won a Monte Carlo award and did a fab zoom in on it from the ceiling cam. Phil seems to be alive today too! First time for everything!

"Fab zoom"!!!? Hmmm, I thought it was a bit juddery as usual. When are they going to sort that track out!?

Are they going to change the Tower so it's more red and less orange now?

Haven't seen the new titles on screen yet but the caps look good.

The camera is controllable from the gallery with a cool little joysitck, it spins ito practically any direction, zoomes, focuses, etc. It's grat fun to play with. There's no need to have it moving though. Moving then stopping OTOH is tricky, as the track will swing when you stop.
