On the BBC NEWS VIDEO CONSOLE the links on the front page under the video screen are in the BBC SPORT font and style.

New look probably.

Don't know if this has been noted, but on Breakfast from the N24 studio this morning - the left hand projector screen was semi-transparent during the sport which was coming from the right hand side of the desk.

I know that was mentioned whilst the relaunch was taking place but I hadn't seen it yet.

And Bill will be going away for a while on his summer hols. Will we see stints from Michael Burke again?

Well, Simon McCoy's down to do Friday's Breakfast in the Radio Times, but if Bill's off for a long time they'll presumably need someone else to fill in at some stage. Perhaps they'll ship Michael Peschardt back from Australia for a while like they usually do.

Did Bill say how long he'd be off for?

They'll also need a new Six O'Clock News stand in because NickyS said some weeks ago that George and Bill will be on holidays at the same time.

I expect to see Jon Sopel on both the Six, and Breakfast. Perhaps they will try out Dermot on the Six this summer?

But will we see Jane or Natasha doing the Six?

What about Darren Jordon? Surely he'd be a more obvious choice and would proove less disruption to News 24 or Breakfast. Anyway I presumed he would be George's replacement before we knew it was Bill. Razz

Has anyone noticed that the BBC News 24 headline/globe has been a bit geographically confused today?

This morining car pool lanes was seen flying over the North Pole; at the start of Peter Sissons stint at 5pm the headline about the missing US marine sped over the South Pacific region Confused

Still a good look at other globe positions. Thanks whoever was in charge the globe today Cool

Si!

I must say it was great to see the globe spinning from other geographical areas, perhaps the director who was on at the time was doing it in conjunction with the BBC News 50th anniversary tomorrow!

By the way, did anyone get any caps or videos please from the globe spinning today please??
