Going back to yesterday's move of the Six to BBC2:

I caught the beginning of BBC London News on DTT. Shame on them for managing to get the tail end of a BBC1 Skateboard Ident on after the BBC2 ident...

And what happened to the red box on BBC1 London - it looked like the wrong font or as if it had been hastily thrown together - it certainly doesn't look like the national or other regional ones.

EDIT: Oops, didn't realise some of this had already been covered in the Flipping Wimbledon thread... Embarassed

Kate Sanderson was co-presenting with Dermot this morning, with Gillian at the newsdesk. I wish it had been Moira co-presenting.

Was that planned? Kate seemed to be clutching her hard copy when I was watching, as though she hadn't expected to be fronting the main programme.

It was down for Gillian to be doing the Breakfast Briefing but i thought Natasha would be on today as she said 'see you you tomorrow' on yesterdays programme. What's with this taking the Wednesday off regularly about?

Firstly, its Thursday Wink and its probably just something to do with Strictly Come Dancing. Kate weren't bad though.

I've always rated Kate far higher than some of the other stand-ins (i.e. Jules) - I think she presents the main programme better than she reads the news. I remember her doing Saturday and Sunday with Bill a few weeks back and she was pretty good then as well.

By the way, did anyone else notice a rather haggard, tired looking Sian updating the Saddam Hussein story with pictures after the regional news just now - surely Anna could have done it, she doesn't go home that quickly after the 1:00 News. It looked like Sian had been rushed in, no time for hair or make up, just to do that one snippet of a newsflash.

It's (vaguely) interestesing to see British people watching BBC World in the UK, on a report on the Six about world reaction to Saddam's apperance, especially as you '"cant'" recieve World in the UK.

If I'm thinking of the bit you saw, they weren't British - they were Iraqi. Which might explain why their dish is set up to receive foreign television channels such as BBC World.

Same thing happened on BBC News 24 during a live link to the Iraqi cafe in West London.

Makes sense I suppose you can't have them watching the same channel they are on live, so next best thing is to be watching another BBC channel. It would be worse if it was Sky News.

Was interesting to hear Asia Today blasting in the background though.

Interesting to see Paddy O'Connell is presenting BBC Three News this week while Eddie Mair is off ... nice to have Paddy back.

Oh yes, he's been fab so far. It proves just how good he is at live shows like this and how he can do serious news as well as surreal daft shows like Celebdaq and Liquid.

Now if only we can get him to do the ten...
