Not to be picky, but when Jon Sopel was saying who was included in the Honours list he referred to Angela Rippon as a former newscaster ( And not with reference to her presenting at the BBC ), but technically she is still a newscaster on the ITV NC.

Isn't she techinically a newscaster and former newsreader?
Not sure if this has been mentioned before but trialers went out last night for CBBC moving to BBC2 on Saturdays from this weekend, and this morning's Breakfast was on BBC1, so I presume thats' the end to Weekend 24, and Breakfast is on BBC1 seven days a week now.

Yep, the last you'll see of Weeked 24 - it's Breakfast all week from now on.
John Inverdale said that this programme would be on for the next 9 saturdays - so will Weekend 24 not return then - or was it going to be scrapped anyway ?
Just watching the joint news service on BBC World, and I noticed that the astons from News 24 are lining up perfectly with the BBC World tower - this never usually happens during joint programmes. The only difference I can see is that the static version of World's tower is on screen, rather than the moving one produced by N9. Has the static tower been altered to allow it to line up properly?
Another minor question - does anyone know why The World Today have started using the generic titles rather than the TOG generated ones? The last time I saw it, they used live rendered titles with a headline, and the endcap was "The World Today". I saw it a couple of times this week, and they now use the pre-rendered titles instead (i.e. without headline). For some reason, the music on the generic titles is really weak - it sounds bad!

Noticed this too, the music seems less in volume for some reason.
I have always thought that The World Today was a bit weak anyway, it could be a more complete, comprehensive show than it is today, it seems like a BBC WORLD News output with Business bolted on.
It think they should do a more solid show
Like have more special reports.
Double Headed and give the show its own identity like The World.
News 24 have been playing with the box on tonight's Click Online. It disappeared near the beginning when it was covering some text ... which was scrolling up the screen anywat so there wasn't much point... and it was back within ten seconds. Later it disappeared totally, without spinning, but it was liek a bad optout with a split second of black and a pop in the sound.
I wish they'd decide what to do when Click Online is on. Either they need to take it away for the whole programme or get Click Online's produces to avoid putting graphics in the areas occupied by the box and the ticker... most weeks the headlines ticker blocks the slug on the Click News section. Thankfully this week it was later in the show.
But just now a few minutes ago Click Online did an unusual caption which was partly obscured by the box. And few weeks ago they put up a breaking news banner towards the end of the show which obscured web addresses on Webscape. They could ahve easily taken it away for a few seconds to show the web address and later brought it back.

When it launched it had its own music set, dedicated presenters - Martine & Tanya nearly all the time, and handed over the News 24 presenter for a UK News update - all of these things have gone making it more like a World bulletin.
