It's been like that for days.
And I think I need to point out that there is a big difference between incompetence and technical failures!

I also noticed the trailer for last night's "The Issue" on UTV was arced incorrectly; filmed in 16:9, but arced into 4:3 in a 16:9 frame, making Fearghal look a bit taller and a bit thinner.

Reasonably unusual situation at the moment where BBC Scotland's Sportscene is being carried on BBC Northern Ireland. Interesting to note on DSAT a significant difference in picture quality between BBC ONE Scotland and BBC ONE Northern Ireland - the latter being quite blurred.
BBC Northern Ireland's pictures being routed through Havelock House?

I don't understand why that should be. I was watching mostly DTT and Analogue and the picture was up to my exacting standards!
Shame old Doug didn't have a special welcome to Northern Ireland viewers (and anyone watching on BBCi)...!

Yes - thought that a little odd myself. In stark contrast to the mid-1980s when BBC Scotland would provide children's programmes for BBC N. Ireland viewers during July. They had a great 'hello' for viewers watching in N. Ireland back then.
As for the blurrovision quality during today's Sportscene on BBC N. Ireland (DSAT) - perhaps Mark has provided the answer (above).
Interesting to note that RTE Network 2 also carried coverage of the match today and appear to have been provided with a clean feed. However - RTE managed to perform their usual trick of draining the colour out of the picture. Very washed out.

Just seen trails for Insight and UTV's coverage of the North West 2000 - is Mr Hamill involved in producing them?
They look good, very slick, not sure about the UTV logo at the end of the Insight trail, the [ T V ] rectangle looks a bit on a big side.
Oh yes, also like the new look UTV Watch to Win presentation style, shame the pre-recorded clips still have dodgy picture quality, what's happened to the Van-der-Graaf-generator glass thing?
