Is it just me (or my wonky telly) or was the sound badly distorted at the start of the bulletin in STV-land (or indeed elsewhere)?

Oh, and STV showed the daytime clouds ident before the news. At half ten at night. Ho hum... Rolling Eyes

It was fine for us in london.

I can't believe the news came on at 10:35 yesterday, they even had 4minutes of ads after TV's Naughtiest Blunders wheras they usually only have like 1/2mins especially if they are running late.

I hope this is not a sign of things to come. Please don't turn out like the last news at "ten".

Ah well, no football or TV's Naughtiest Blunders next week. Fingers crossed!

PS: YAY! EPG data loaded on today!

I don't like how they've done this especially as theyve said that with the news moving to 10.30, it would always start at 10.30, we're only a few months in, and it's started to deteriorate.

Oh for goodness sake it started five minutes late because of football; the fact it started at 10:35:00 means that it was still at a round time, it's happened once! (apart from one time where it started at 22:30:30) It's no big deal, the Ten o'clock crap has started before a bit late get over it.

Steve and Felicity are back - looks like it's a regular thing Smile

EPG just says Felicity for this hour though

Though it's a bit odd to have a dual-anchored hour stranded in the middle of the evening - it would be good if they could find a co-host for Joyce in the 7pm hour.

Anyone see UK Today at 3.15pm today?

I loved Fred Dineage's comment about Meridian Tonight at the end of his bit:

"It's so great, you would move to the South to see it!"

Fantastic, the best comment I've heard on the NC for some time now.

The ITV News at 10:30 actually began at 10:35 tonight!

Is this a first?

I think it could be. I usually check with Teletext where it starts at 22:30:02, though this was disgraceful tonight, especially as they aired TV's Naughtiest Blunders (when will they just kill this programme) 17 before it!
They could have actually done a quick edit if they knew they were over running after the football, and cut out a few of the clips, or just take the break sting and play it out when they needed to, and have the continuity announcer say that 'TV's Naughtiest Blunders 18 continues after the news'.
I don't like how they've done this especially as theyve said that with the news moving to 10.30, it would always start at 10.30, we're only a few months in, and it's started to deteriorate.

That is ACTUALLY what I said and not what is included in the quote a few posts previous!

Neil Connery is now reporting from Baghdad - I wonder if Julian Manyon has gone back to Jersualem?

What is Connery's role nowadays anyway? I know that John Irvine has gone to Asia, so does that mean Connery is now the main Baghdad correspondent, or just a general Middle East reporter?

Also, can anybody with the EPG data update us with today's and tomorrow's schedules? Thanks.

Neil Connery is Africa Correspondent, based in Johannesburg.

Julian Manyon is Middle East Correspondent, based in Jersusalem.

Though for the last couple of weeks Martin Geissler has been covering the Jerusalem bureau whilst Manyon has been in Baghdad

Interesting to see a different CSO background used in the Westminster studio - Peter Murphy has the MI6 building behind him, instead of the usual view of the Palace of Westminster.

I found an interesting page about the installation of ITN's rooftop Westminster camera the other day - www.rotronics.co.uk/itnweathercam.htm
