I notice that as part of the EU expansion coverage Sky were using Ray Kennedy in Dublin today, one of their new correspondents for the Sky News Ireland service.

I wonder if we will see any of the rest of the new team in action tomorrow for the EU summit etc?

He's been covering the riots at ashtown gate aswell, he clearly wasn't very experienced at the whole breaking news thing, but he managed to keep talking.

Because of the EU summit Sunday with Adam Boulton was done from the Dublin studio ("The first broadcast from Sky News Ireland", he said), doesn't look too bad considering the budget & space limitations.

There's a very big plasma in the middle with images from the globe in the titles along the middle of the wall (which is blue and lit like the other studios) and a red strip underneath with "Sky News Ireland" on it.

Umm.. not very good at describing these things, am I? See for yourself, the repeat's at 4 I think.

Or see Sky News Active now. Looks very nice to me, so far.

Looks a bit cheap to me, I must say I am disappointed there is no newsroom in shot...

Another presentation disaster.

Then again, I suppose it might be just the soft area of the studio.

Or is that wishful thinking?

New Twist to Sky News Crew Saga

Be aware that this is from the Zimbabwe Herald, the state controlled newspaper. Much of what's written should be taken with a very, very large pinch of salt.

It is just the soft area - there's a rather odd neon fronted desk (a bit like the old old Sky News desk!) which backs on to a (very!) small area of newsroom with a Sky News Ireland logo on the back wall.

Looks good, though whoever made that promo showing Dublin as being in Waterford needs a geography lesson...

Having Finally seen the designs for the new studio at Osterley, I'm disappointed with Ireland. The new building will look amazing.

Come on... don't be coy!

Big/average? (ahem)

American style/European style?

Similar to what?

You know you want to!
