The tabloids were not disgusted, the sun was over the moon. It was the public that were disgusted. Although "Disgusted" is a bit strong, it's just not what the viewers are interested in seeing, which despite all the hype the low viewing figures for that episode prove.

Anyway ... the rumours continue in the sundays papers. Here's what was in the NOTW some old some new...

- 10 week run (rather then the usual 9)
-insider says' They're doing whatever they can to makes sure viewers wont be disappointed.'They really want to push the housemates over the edge'.
- They have halved the size of the house and the garden is said to be tiny to bring the contestants 'Closer' the source continues' If there's any chance of a romance hotting up, there's no way they wont get around it now'.' There going to feel like sardines, so they'll be nothing to do except fight and have sex. It's going to be the toughest one yet for the contestants'.

The 10 week will definately improve things - no need for a first week eviction then. As for making the house smaller, they did that last year as well, so any smaller it might as well be a cardboard box.

Rumours from the Star today that to encourage sex housemates will be able to win time in the reward room with either lapdancers or the Chippendales. Now that would be a major change in the ethos of the show - allowing "guests" to enter the house, although it worked very well on Shattered when guests came in to teach the participants activities.

Big Brother's all about money making, so they'll always be a first week eviction, this extra week is just a way of them making more money

After reading all these rumours over the past few week's i 've lost all hope for BB5 Rolling Eyes I know they ARE just rumours, and we get them every year, but every year just a handfull of them turn out to be true. But the sad thing is there isn't one rumour i've heard that could help the show Rolling Eyes any one of them imo will ruin it.

No surprise really but the Daily Star reports today that Big Brother will stream live on C4 at breakfast time this year: http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds6044.html

Personally I hope they leave the housemates sleeping - getting them up for meaningless tasks would be pointless. Maybe repeating the main show and BBLB from 7-8am with live coverage from 8-9am.

OMG! How do I know that this will be annoying me this year, what was wrong with the way BB1 was done? A nightly showing on Channel 4, a repeat the next day on Channel 4, the odd repeat thrown in here and there and Live streaming on the Internet. What was wrong with that?

I can't wait for it to be over this year as it has become a very tired show.

But I can't say until I have seen it.

Channel 4 will air live streaming from the new BB house at breakfast time, the Daily Star reports today.

The network has struggled in the ratings since The Big Breakfast was axed in 2001; its replacement - the now defunct RI:SE - could only muster respectable ratings when it featured exclusive BB coverage over the summer.

But there's a difference between RI:SE doing BB-related items, and E4-style streaming from the house. They won;t attract the same kind of ratings.

Agree with you there 100%.
Last year RI:SE's coverage was ok (as was the year before), as they shownt highlights of the previous nights show (for anyone that missed it), talked about the contestants and what was going on in the house, and had some good analysis, compared with this year watching people sleep, unless they plan to get them up early, but then they will all go to bed early and won't drink as much!

What they could do is commission a show, sort of like a BBLB early. Produced by endemol, with a couple of presenters that go around the site, have live phone calls, and give you an idea of what's going on in the day.
They could have Friends at 7, this BBLB early from 7:30-8:30 then Everybody Loves Raymond at 8:30.
Though it could end up being too much like BBLB, leaving BBLB nothing to do on the evening show.

I think that's a good idea, and I don't think that the majority of the same people who watched the morning programme would watch the evening BBLB, so it wouldn't matter if some of the features are the same.

Don't really agree with an extra BBLB style show - I still doubt whether moving BBLB from E4 to C4 really benefitted the show.

Personally I'd prefer "natural" live streaming of the housemates getting up rather than Big Brother getting them up for pointless reasons.

I agree. This is just yet another rumour which if proven to be true will kill the show. Just let it flow naturally, the show is on the verge of becoming too controlled and contrived.

Big Brother 5 will launch at 8pm on Friday 28th May as part of "Super Friday". A second edition will air at 10pm, with the final Friends episodes at 9pm.

C4 are expected to begin revealing more information on the series from next week.

If only "Super Friday" will be promoted as such. Instead I think we'll just get the regular boring idents and junctions. Be the perfect time to launch the new look though...
