The idents are now running in alternate junctions ... including the next one! I think the all-new symbol is at 7pm.

I hope the one at seven is a bit more exciting (for a presentation enthusiast anyway). My reaction was, "meh".

Good good. I'm a demanding man, Dan.

Ahem... <anno voice on> The new issue of the Radio Times contains a feature on BBC TWO's 40th anniversary, and a front cover giving an idea of what the ident MAY look like... as well as listings for all major free to air and other television channels. <anno voice off>

I only got my copy today, but it's a good article... and I love the BBC2/TWO ident timeline along the bottom of the page - a nice touch! Very Happy

Get the capturing equipment ready, assuming the 7:00pm statement is correct.

Wow a BBC 2 'Invisible Walls' but the '2's contained footage of past idents. Also the purple 40 years.

Impressive and a bit weird, would have preferred an ident similar to the one on the cover of Radio Times as well. A nice mix of old idents included, just a pity I don't have the facilities to capture video.

Hmmmm.....

Yeah. Um. Need to think about that one. It felt a bit like blink and you'd miss the old idents (although it was nice to see multiple 2s from the last incarnation)

Yeah, was very nice indeed. Lots of visual flashy effects on the two as it entered and exited through the invisible walls. Very impressive and, at the same time, sad to once again see the old idents that we quite blatantly so much better than the lot we have now. Although I do like the current set and think it's amoung the best pres on the BBC at the moment (and let's face it, it isn't hard to pick the best out of the rest), we had it so much better.

Actually, I would say that BBC2,3 and 4 have got good idents at the moment. And when you look back at the previous BBC2 idents, they didn't all work that well (e.g. TWO). I think the thing that the current set has going for it is taking the 2 from the previous set and giving it more character (like some of the best old 2s had - e.g.Car or Fluffy Dog)

I love the official birthday ident, though it really does have to run without a voiceover so you can hear the different sounds on it.

Meantime, network's Formation ident seems to have the Screen Clean music! Confused
