Does this mean that Natasha could now be in the race to succeed Sophie? So far, it seems that;

Arrow Sian Williams
Arrow Emily Maitlis
Arrow and now Natasha K

Maybe they are testing out other presenters for Sophies maternity leave like the way they tested presenters on Newsnight in the summer.

Emily's 5 months pregnant so it wont be her and I would say that it is definately gonna be Sian. After all she is currently the second presenter so the role should automatically go to her. Will be interesting to see who replaces her though when shes away on the Six. Should be Jane Hill. Razz

Maybe there testing out new presenters for Weekend 24 though - after all if Sophie is off for a good while then Natasha and Jules wont be on every week on Breakfast/Weekend 24!

I agree that Sian will almost certainly end up replacing Sophie - as second female presenter she's the obvious choice.

But although this should mean the odd Bill & Sian pairing at 6:00, I am extremely worried that poor Bill won't be able to cope when Sian is taken away from him on Breakfast / Weekend 24. So it is clearly very important that they test out new presenters very carefully so that Bill doesn't get too upset!

Expect to see a few different pairings during April ... I would say you can expect Jane and Mishal .. a bit of Emily maybe even Louise Wink

Well, according to the Radio Times we've got Mishal Husain on Weekend 24/Breakfast this weekend with Bill.

And Jules all next week on Breakfast seeing as Natasha obviously needs a week off after doing BBC One bulletins for the first time on Saturday! Wink Razz

Mishal Husain was excellent on Weekend 24 this morning - I thought she and Bill made an excellent pairing. I'd never seen her before, but I'm quite impressed!

By the way, did Natasha do the 11:40 bulletin on BBC1 this morning?

Yes

In fact, I've just watched the bulletin online so confirmed that for myself, but thanks anyway! I thought she was excellent, really good. Far better than she manages on Breakfast.

It was only a short bulletin of course and it'll be interesting to see a longer programme later on, but it seems we have a clear solution to our Breakfast presenter problems - move Dermot and Natasha to the 6:00 News (both seem better at reading "straight" bulletins), make Bill and Sian main presenters on Breakfast and have Simon McCoy and Mishal Husain at weekends. Perfect!

Yes Natasha did seem a lot better on BBC One bulletin - she was much more likeable than Breakfast.
