I was certainly sad to see John go although i didn't catch the bulletin i didn't even know that it was is last.
I wonder whether the poaching from a rival service will be Johns replacement as stand in presenter and/or news channel anchor
I would like to see steve scott or andrew harvey on itv1 bulletins

Strange that Owen just did an hour.

Anyone know the weekend schedule ?

Well I suppose Owen's appearance is due to there being no Steve today as neither Joyce nor Felicity could do the 10pm bit.

A very long bit of breakfiller was just played just then, I tuned in at 11.53 and it was playing until 11.56, anyone capture it?

Owen's on now from the main studio so this half hour may be new?

It could well be from 9pm. The giveaway will be whether or not there's a UK Today "live" to ITV Wales News at about quarter past.

And in the past the London presenter has done the 10pm half-hour - I think both Steve Scott and Leyla Daybelge have done both.

Isn't it nice to see Katie Derham doing all these bulletins lately!

Also, it looks like the afternoon and evening schedule is settling down a bit, with Leyla's move from 5.30-10.30 to 1.00-6.30 looking permanent which is better. Felicity's shift involving an hour at 8pm makes sense as well

Notice no Chris Rogers on any of these three days which makes a change as he seems to be on every day lately

I reckon that on Sunday Sasha will do both the ITV1 national and London Today lunchtime bulletins, and Owen will do London Tonight - the same as last week.

And that last half-hour with Owen did seem to be live. Makes a change to see live output post-midnight.

Katie was very good on the 10.30 last night, I think she should get the stand-in role on the programme, and Felicity could be a stand-in on the Lunchtime News. I say this because the late bulletin is quite short and it needs continuity, whereby people know it would either be Katie or Trevor presenting.

Even though Katie was great on the 10.30 last night, it makes sense for Mark Austin to be the back-up presenter seeing as he will be the eventual successor.

Those outside of the M25 could be forgiven for thinking that Katie is just a relief presenter on the ITV News.

Looking at the pictures of the green screen, I'm amazed that there is no green reflection on the floor of the set, how do they manage that ? It really is cleverly done.

It's quite impressive that they've got Angela out and about doing set-piece interviews during the week for use on the weekend show. It's not exactly "live with..." but shows a bit of planning and forethought goes into the programme.

Though of course this interview with John Kerry's sister was premiered on US Election Weekly on Thursday.
