I only hope they organise the building to allow the Sky News main studio/newsroom area to look open and airy and distinctive, rather than the current boxy and dull set up they've got at the moment.

It would be such an opportunity missed to see them go for another boring studio design.

Amusing paper review this evening with Alan and Lisa. The reviewer, Michael Dodd, was talking about a new theatre show, where they are asking for volunteers to star, once they are dead!! Shocked

Lisa and Alan were cracking jokes and in hysterics, although I'm not sure Michael Dodd saw the funny side.

Catch it on Sky News Active overnight. Not sure what time they take if off in the morning.

OMG.

Did that thing with Anne Widdecombe actually just happen then, or was it just the most hilarious dream ever?

So what happened?

I really want to know whether it was real or not, because I've been working all day and probably was halucinating.

Essentially, they do a trailer for Littlejohn at about 6.20, and tonight Anne Widdecombe was sitting in for the racist turd.

David Foster: "So, Anne, what's on the show tonight?"
Widdecombe: "..." (silence)
David Foster: "Anne, tell us what's on tonight"
Widdecombe: "Well I would if it was on the screen"
David: "Have a guess"
Widdecombe: "Have a guess?"
David: "Yes!"
Widdecombe: "Ok... erm. It's Monday. It's 7 O'clock. I'm Widdecombe. No I'm not. I'm Anne Widdecombe. Are we on?"

Then some more mumbling before they cut her off, with the sight of hacks wetting themselves with laughter in the newsroom behind the presenters.

It was just hilarious. If you thought Anne Widdecombe was unflappable, think again.

Laughing wish I'd seen that!

Why do they always get such incompetent (in the art of TV) people to sit in for Littlejohn?

I remember seeing a similar trail with Amanda Platell which was almost as painful as what you describe above.

Has anyone else noticed how Gordon Radley's headline sequences are often recorded the first time round and played again instead of being done live each time?

It might be an overnight thing but I've only ever noticed it when he's been presenting.

You might just get another chance... she's on again tonight.

Sorry, I know she's supposedly controversial etc, but she just doesn't have the voice for presenting. That said, neither does Richard Littlejohn.

The best stand-in they've had was Carole Malone of the Daily Mirror and Sky One vein. She might be peroxide blonde and as loud as they come, but she was actually better than the regular.

I haven't seen this before...

I would've thought there would be certain rules they would go by when using the Sky News Australia logo. I've seen them use several different variations of the logo, are there any rules or can they just change the logo however they like?
