We know new idents are ready, SKYnews australia are using their copies of it, and March 15th is a date stated by DVEous here and other Sky workers I have spoken to.
They have slapped a big Sky News Active logo in the newsroom, again for no obvious reason.
Can only assume - and it's total guesswork - that they're going to be introducing yet more interactivity into the programmes. With the light-up text/email er... "thing" in the gallery, etc. Maybe they're going to be doing a walk around programme (a la MSNBC in the early days). They must be there for a purpose.
Also, why's Sky News Tody suddenly being 90% presented from the newsroom, rather than 50-50 studio/newsroom?
Perhaps they'll have someone sitting in the gallery with the latest texts and emails - hence the communications lightbox. Also that Sky News Active logo above the presenters (on the newsroom side of the glass) looks very...erm...interesting. I'd hope they're going to use that part of the newsroom for something and aren't just slapping random logos up.

Yes, god forbid Sky have an incoherent policy towards presentation!
Is it me, or does the "lightbox" (nice coinage, Mr Ison) say the text number is 44501, when it is in fact 84501? Could be my eyes.
Guess there is a chance of someone standing on the sort of steps down to the gallery from the studio area and reading emails. Does seem a little odd, though.

That lightbox looks about the right size to fit into one of those empty panels in the studio wall....

Yes, which obviously explains why it's in the gallery...

Christ.
Really!! I hadn't noticed. I wondered why all those screens were in that room.!!
The point I was trying make (obviously badly) was that they may be planning to use the same kind of screen in the studio as well!
Wish I hadn't bothered......
