My first attempt at a mock, and (sorry) is obviously based on BBC News 24. The 'next' bar would slide down with a couple of minutes remaining of the current program - and would be replaced with 'update' and 'sports' when and if required.

(not all of it would fit within the 4:3 area, I know)

Lol well it's a tad useless. Good idea tho.

Oh and doesn't 16:9 have safe area's also - or is that just me who made that up for my own widescreen work?

The Mock Lab
• Give each group of astons a different colour or opaqueness - maybe even add a dull background picture or gradient to some
• Change the "in London" text to a pink or white
• All astons have GOT to be inside the 4:3 area
• Lift the name aston more into the screen and off the bottom
• Change the text on the top (the ticker) to capitals.

The arrows are a pretty good idea. Great first attempt Very Happy

Your mock isn't exactly at the right ratio for 16:9, so when corrected for it and viewed at six feet away on a television set, it might look like this:

You can see how the interlacing (or fielding) really wreaks havoc on small, thin type.

Also, people with small, 4:3 televisions will only be able to read this text on their screen:

So, careful attention to safe areas and type size is definitely a must.

Click Online is actually a technology news programme broadcast weekends on BBC News 24 and BBC World

yeah thats the idea.
I knew the proportions of it were completely out - I just made it for the sake of it
rather than for serious analysis really.
